  1. Awesome! Some really good stuff here! I have 2 engines I want to build. The one that's in my truck now and one I just picked up. I was thinking about going all stock for the first one just to figure everything out then build the second one 40 ever. Any suggestions on that?
  2. I am going to rebuild my l18 and I found this site online that says that have everything anyone heard of them? http://www.cleggengine.com/nissan-1-8l-l18-610-620-710-sohc-8v-73-74-engine-rebuild-kits.html
  3. Alright you guys I haven't seen or felt any type of wear yet in that drive line and the car drives smoother than ever. I will continue to update if I see or feel any changes. Since my truck is lowered pretty much as low as it can without sitting on the bump stops. the straight shaft doesn't touch on anything and looks to have the perfect angle. Thank you everyone for the suggestions and things to look out for. I will keep everyone updated asap...
  4. Just to let everyone know I put the straight shaft in and everything looks great! If I have any problems I will update.
  5. Ok then I didn't see any splines when I took it apart but thanks!
  6. Oh crap! I didn't mark the splines that go into my transmission... What do I do now?
  7. Perfect! This is exactly what I needed to know! What's an ideal angle for a car with a straight shaft would be my next question? And what's the best way to adjust the rear block angle and measure the angles?
  8. You guys have brought up a couple good points I didn't know about. Yes I did have the drive shaft apart before and no i don't know about indexing the drive shaft. Never heard of it. I'm not 100% on the whole angle thing neither. If any could help with the angles and things that would be great!
  9. Yes I was thinking the same thing but since it is lowered wouldn't that make diff to trams shaft straighter? Oh and any suggestions on how to fix the angles?
  10. Thanks for the suggestions and help. Oh and yes I misspelled u-joint. I am going to a straight shaft but I'm not sure if it is going to fit since my truck is so low. And ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Oh and ya it's the rubber that's getting messed up.
  11. My rear u-joint just went out for the second time and I am looking to put an all new straight shaft in. I don't know exactly how low my grow is but the rear is nearly as low as possible without c notch. I had the truck jacked up from one side and used a large piece of pipe and it looked like it would fit but the suspension was not fully compressed.
  12. Awesome! Thank you...yes new carrier bearing and it failed on the diff end.
  13. I am having rear u joint problems. I think my 1974 Datsun 620 has a bad u joking hole. If u have a rear drive shaft or an option that is fairly inexpencive. please help!
  14. Awesome thank you everyone for all help/instructions I'll go talk to my exhaust guy and see what he thinks. A couple weeks ago I was under there and I didn't think it was possible but I'll have him take a look. Thanks
