  1. Yeah, currently have light chatter on decel. Definitely grabbing a cheap angle finder so I can make sure to get the proper shims, thanks guys!
  2. Well, I figured someone on here had lowered a 620 3" in the rear, so they might know what degree would be needed. I may hold off until I hear from someone who had done it so I can be sure to get the correct blocks with the built in tilt, since it sounds like it will definitely be necessary to have shims/tilt built into the blocks.
  3. One other question about lowering, will 3" blocks require shims? Or will I be ok with just blocks? I know 4" blocks definitely require shims, I just didn't know if a 3" drop would be enough to throw off the driveshaft angles and require shims. I figure it would be safer just to use shims anyway, but I got a set of 3" blocks for free and didn't know if I should wait to install them before ordering shims, or just ordering blocks with 2 degree tilts built into them.
  4. Well, I daily drive this with no issues (and have been for 5+ years), so I think I'll be ok :D Also, I could care less that others think of my vehicles, I modify them because I want to change them into something that I will enjoy, and because I enjoy modifying cars. But I do agree to a point, functionality is more important than form. My xb has a functional tow hitch, and can carry 5 people. If I lowered it any more, It would be almost impossible to drive without issues. Thanks for the tips everyone!
  5. Ok, I'm not going to lie. I had pretty much convinced myself to stay stock and enjoy the truck....buuutt...this picture has kind of ruined that. My questions are: 1) what wheels are these, because they look great! 2) Is this just blocks and cranking down the front, or notched frame, raised front shock towers? Either enable me to dump the truck, or crush my dreams by letting me know it will require custom work :D
  6. Hey, another Ky native! Best of luck with the head gasket, looks like you are in good hands!
  7. So many awesome 4 lug wheels...I'm just over trying to find decent wheels in 6lug that aren't from an 80's chevy/yota/jeep, have a super sunken offset or cost more than my truck did.
  8. Well, with the 1/4" spacers, the lugnuts I have don't even reach the lugs through the wheels/spacers. Took the spacers back and am ordering some 1" spacers/adapters, as the rear tires were barely rubbing on the frame.
  9. No no, definitely a set of real spacers. No stacked washers for me. I may be a "shadetree mechanic"...but....dang...not that shady.
  10. Hey all, well it's finally starting to warm up here in KY, so it's time to the winter/snow tires off of my 74 620. The only problem is, the wheels and tires I have to put on are going to need spacers, and I'm not sure if 1/4" spacers will need extended lugs or not?
  11. I think I have figured out the confusion everyone is having with the video. Once I start the truck in the video, I am indeed just letting go of the key. I tried to tighten down the thread that holds the ignition switch in (thinking it may just be moving around causing a problem), which caused the "guide" that says "accessory, on, start/etc" to move around quite a bit, meaning it doesn't line up with where the key actually is. I meant to turn it back so it lined up with the key position, I just forgot.
  12. I did let go of it in the video directly after I started it? It died immediately. I then tried to turn back to accessory or in between accessory and on to see if I could catch the "sweet spot" where it would stay running.
  13. Well, I caved. I need the truck for daily use, so I ordered a new ignition switch. Once I replace it and have some free time, I'm going to try and figure out what made it fail so quickly. I'll definitely be keeping my receipt for the 1 year warranty this time though!
  14. What she's doing. I'm super confused, as I just replaced it in october! I guess I'll be keeping a separate key for the ignition on my so there is NO weight on it from now on.
