  1. I have a '77 Datsun 620 pickup that drove perfectly fine after I first bought her but she's starting to develop a few 'quirks'. The odometer has always run waaay too fast (the numbers are actually closer to how many MINUTES it's been driving) but the speedo was accurate until just a few days ago. It runs 15-20 mph too fast and on highways tends to get stuck and spastic at around 80 (or 70?) Maybe just adjust cable union nut/replace cable but would that just fix speedo? How to deal with odometer readings? I have the original rims and hubs but the tires are P205/75R14's. Not sure if that is the totally wrong size I know 205/60R14 is acceptable. Could that account for such a huge issue with the readings? Appreciate any and all help.
  2. Bullbar/push bar potato/potato -- whatever you prefer to call it I love having it. Especially when I have to drive around west LA.
  3. Just saved this creamy little number from a one-way trip to the junkyard. 1977 Datsun 620 long bed with a 3-spd auto tranny. The owner had been a Datsun collector (not much of a driver though) -- she'd barely been driven and the body is pretty much immaculate. She's the perfect little mini truck and yet her bed is longer than my Ford Ranger's. Cali native truck no rusting out at all -- sun's been a little hard on the dash but it's just aesthetics really. She still needs a little TLC (tranny sounds like it's powered by a hamster on a wheel when idling in drive and the odo/speedometer is on crack) but she'll scoot up and down the 101 without a complaint. All in all, a total gem from Southern California farm country. Still to do: -get hamster out of tranny -get the running lights running -rear shocks -fix speedo -replace carpet -maybe fix tape deck so I can listen to my crummy old cassettes Calling her Virginia Slim for the moment but want to drive her a little more before the official christening. Here she is!: All OG parts except for the battery (old one wouldn't hold a charge) and the water pump I replaced The back of the seats were totally eaten away so I used some thick linen/canvas to reback it and keep the cab from looking like a hay bale threw up in it. This was supposed to be the replacement upholstery for the back of the seat but I liked this creepy shesquatch I painted so much I put her over the 1980's-ified seat cover the guy put on. Original blue 'leather' upholstery is still underneath in ok condition. Thanks for indulging my new obsession! :P
