ive been hearing a quiet womp womp in the rear of the 510 that got wayyy worse over the period of 5 days of sitting.
that sound was not quick like a shaft but more of a slower rotation like a wheel or brakes.
it got worse after sitting for a few days in some bad rain after i drove through a big puddle.
i put it up on jacks and put it in first gear and ran it in the air.. no womp or anything.
driving up and down the street i heard the womp and even felt it bump a little bit i think.
i checked:
lugnuts, brand new wheels and tires balanced, half shafts, u-joints.
i did put a 3.70 subie lsd in 1 year ago.
when i wiggled the right rear wheel at the 12 and 6 o clock position it moved about a 1/16" or possibly more while making an ugly noise. the front 280zx struts have it worse and havent had a problem with them.
the back left barely at all.
is there a write up with pictures on how to change out rear wheel bearings with stock drum brakes?
i have manuals but the pictures suck, and details are limited. ive also searched but its all scattered, some saying use an old bearing, use a punch, use a pipe, use a bearing puller yaddah yaddah..
