  1. So I have an 87 kingcab hardbody with a bad rearend. So I swapped in a 95 axle wich came from a single cab and after all said and done the driveshaft would not match up due to different bolt patterns on the pinion flange. I tried swapping flanges but the newer 95 axle some sort of ring gear I am assumming its for the abs system but either way swapping the flange alone is not going to work...So the new route after opening up the old axle and seeing the spider gears thrown all over the place lol!!! Is if I can just swap the carrier from the 95 axle into the third member from the 87 and bolt the third member up to the 95 axle housing and using the 87 dshaft...will this work or am I beating a dead horse?
  2. Thanks for the response... thats what I was thinking swapping the flanges on the shaft but the u joints on the 95 is larger so i think my only option is to find a ext cab 95 shaft or get the 95 flange welded to the 87 shaft
  3. I have a 1987 hardbody ext cab and recently purchased a 1995 single cab donor. swapped both the 5spd tranny and the rear end. Now the problem is the pinion flanges are different bolt patterns so I tried swapping them with no luck, the flange from the 87 wouldnt mate up to the 95 axle. Is there anyone on here that has ran into this problem and any suggestions On how I can use the factory driveshaft wich is obviously needed being its for an ext cab or do I need to find drive shaft from later model hardbody? By the way the axle from the 95 is a hf35 if that helps not sure about the 87 axle.
