  1. The tubes in the middle of the pictures are likely what you are missing out to get your heater for window working, I'll try whenever Im over at my own car again to take a picture of the piece itself as just stored it.
  2. 9.26.15 Having begun grinding, I got to see that it wasn't that bad. If it had maybe gone longer, I doubt I could have just grinded it down, but seems I had luck on my side. :) So I hope to begin laying coats of rust preventation now, and paint over. Maybe beginning on this tomorrow, as now Louie is stored for the moment and just keep on working to get him ready. :D Does anybody have a good choice of sound proof plates whenever Im going to add that in? Along with how to stick them to the floor unless that comes with it?
  3. http://prntscr.com/8knkx5 I'll take a picture later, but it is working, but likely missing a part or two for it to reach up there you show in a different picture. I sorta had the issue not knowing why when i once removed that and didnt get heat up to the window.
  4. 09.23.15 Part 2 Having looked inside the car on the floor, taking out all the mats, rug and such to see how badly it looked like. Not looking to bad on the first impression, although the look can be deceiving with this I suppose. And yeah, having peeled out most of the overlaying sound proof mats, it turned to be a bit worse. Although I believe it could have been far worse, by hammering a bit, it sounds like all I need to do is grind, clean and put some rust prevent. Looked in the boot a bit, and not to bad there, just need to grind down, clean and rust prevent on the worst spots, before just putting paint over. Now all I can do is to get the car to were Iwork, start grinding and cleaning it afterwards. Before then driving to were Im going to store it for the winter and begin laying coats of rust prevent on the floor before painting it.
  5. 9.23.15 Part 1 Looked underneat the car the other day, and took some pictures while I was at it. Not the best angles, and it doesnt look to bad, but needs a bit of sanding it someday and spray protection on. This saturday, I took out Louie for a bit of a drive to strength the old lads legs a bit, enjoying the nice weather although a bit of clouds.
  6. Hello. Im searching for either complete set, or parts of gaskets for my Datsun 140j, 710. It got the L14 engine, however, all the gaskets Im finding is for either L16 and the larger models. Will some of the gaskets fit onto my L14 engine? For example the manifold one? Thanks for any help that any may bring.
  7. A small update on my louie :D He finally got his new shoes on! Some might maybe reconize these, and I will confirm it now, I bought it from a fellow ratsun member, D.D anderson barely a week after i purchased the car. Since then, i have been searching for the correct lug nuts to fit the wheels and car. Kinda of a ordeal since barely anyone had these. Oh well, Im happy now that I got them on at last.
  8. -Sneaks into the picture with a green car.- Haha xD nice timing to get into it. And nice looking car you got yourself, decent rims for the car :) Still waiting to get on my own rims, just waiting on some correct freaking lugnuts haha. By the way, is there a way to remove the air filter box? :P havent figured out how yet since havent worked on old cars alot. Also, you forgot to mention that this white z also won the peoples favorite contest :D

Haha, yes. That was my green 140j that was on lillehammer in the very crowded top area xD Also that is true about the cressida as well. The guy who had both were a friend of mine :) I was tempted for the cressida too, but I just loved the 140j more. I also agree with seeing how many are left usable and/or under work to get back on plates. I live in hallingdal, so we are sorta "neighbours" Was nice to see a couple of the triple sss as well, a decent amount of good cars for such a small meet compared to others. 120 meeting up aint a bad number :p for a country like the size of ours.

Nice 140j :D In what location of Norway do you reside? Own a 1973 140j myself with the previous rear part for sedans, and regarding that mike on why they changed the rear shape was due to complaints i think it was for the rear visibility out the window? just read that somewere :) Maybe do a small 140j meet sometime whenever its ready to be used josen? haha. if you arent to far away.
  11. Hello. Figured I might as well create a project thread and show what I will do underway, plan and maybe gets tips on what to do :) The engine is a L14, 1,4 Liter petrol with a 4 speed manual transmission. Oh and I named the old Louie, of the nephews of donald due to his green affection, or as we call him in norwegian, Doffen. I also sorta named him this way due to someone me and my mother knew had that nickname. So I thought it would fit. Finally got my new mirrors, so here is a before and after shot with them. Took a bit of pictures after fitting the new mirrors, had to enjoy them before it got to dark. I can see way better backwards compared to the old ones. So the plans I have at the moment is waiting for my new lugnuts to fit my rims, hopefully this winter or next year repaint the car in the stock green, fix the slight rust here and there around windows and visible areas. Maybe lower it slightly an inch or two, deepending on what I can get a hold on and get approved over here. They are slightly more strict regarding such matters. Any ideas what I should do, feel free to give me ideas. I'll try to keep you guys updated whenever I do mods or slight modifications, for example with the paintjob. I plan to first repaint the hood, and before clearcoat, have a panthom/ghost custom paint job done on the hood. I wish to do a '70s skyline, a c110 or c210. So if you have good pictures I could use as a reference, it would be awesome.

A quiestion regarding the chassis code. I wonder how early in production mine was. the code is JL710 000348, would this be considered to possibly be among the first 350? If so, Im definitly going to try and keep it running for as long as possible.
  13. Well, I honestly don't know wthat they check for, mostly for correct papers, which we call TÜV approval or something, and check with the according parts that its correctly, not to low and such. Although if its stock parts, its possibly harder to see. And springs for the zx that turn narrower at the top, know were I can check for this? Is it necessarly to get the brake part of it as well when doing the swap for 280zx struts? And what else would be good to look over the L14 engine and transmission? Mine is a manual as I pointed out earlier. And another curious note, is it a timing chain or belt for the camshaft?
  14. Regarding the zx struts, is it from a 280zx? And is it possible to just change the shocks from one of those instead of having to replace the whole part for brakes? Although better brakes would be nice, but not sure how much of a use it would be on a 85 hp engine haha.
  15. Regarding the transmission, mine is a 4 speed manual, I dont think they sold a lot of automatics over here. Most cars that are old are mainly manual, although there are a few automatics I believe. And regarding what you said of using zx struts, it might not be so easy over here due to we need paper in order that its proper and need to do wheel alightment, light and such to then have it in the registration paper in the car, and if its modded with a lowering and you get stopped with such add ins, you will get a fine, need to replace it back to stock and take a trip to the local enforcers or something that have to do with car safety, we call it state Road Administration, its a pain regarding this. Is there any other way to modify it like were it can have a paper on being lowered which is approved and such? Unless its a bit hard over in the states to know this? Or do you know of any shocks that can replace the old ones along with springs for a lower ride height? As for the leafsprings in the back, how do I lower that area if you know or what parts are needed? Sorry if this will make it slightly harder to help, but thanks none the less :) And thanks Tolkmod, and the model series is called 710, just the names varies deepending on the region it gets sold.
