This sounds a lot like the problems I'm having with my 1982 b310 a15 5spd it idles fine a little high but idles smooth but bogs down hard when accelerating and isn't drivable you have any luck with yours? I'm thinking of trying to check timing but I'm not sure about this stuff
Does yours bogg worse under load? That's how mine is and now it dies anytime I stop when trying to drive it
I've seen rubber trim redone with a sandblasting like meathod I don't think they use sand though I think it's a less abrasive powder like soda blasting or something people use it when restoring old wheels off of like kids wagons and such sometimes even old bicycle tires
Damn I lived up there for about a year in 2013 hopefully I can move back there is no oldschool comunity at all here let alone datsun specific.... I get all my info from here hopefully it pays off and I can get my datsun running good
Yes I did in March I put it up on Craigslist recently Though with a pretty funny add (if I say so myself) are you a good with Datsuns and live in the area by any chance?
Ok so the blue wire was ok at the choke but I followed it down to find it was (badly) spliced into a red wire in the harness so I re did the splice to ensure there was a connection but then looked at the fuse box and it seems the engine control fuse was popped and so I replaced that with a spare 15a fuse I had laying around and that popped as soon as I started the car as well could that be my problem or does that have anything to do with the choke? Also when I opened the air box I found the choke in the same position as after I warmed it for 20min the other day???? So many questions
Ok I'll look into that tomorrow also what effect would deleting the metal pipes that run from the exhaust to the air box have? They really seem to get in the way and I feel like hot exhaust doesn't help too much with the power situation
I'm not too worried about milage as gas is pretty cheap here in the southwest 2.30/gal or so also I have no emissions testing where I live (thank you Intel!!!) but would it be worth it the guy had it in a jeep and comes with electric pump and fuel pressure gauge will it bolt on or do I have to also get a adapter for the datsun?
