  3. Last weekend, my original G15 engine threw a rod and as a result, destroyed the block. I'm looking for a new drivetrain to install in the car. Open to either a G15, R16, H20 replacement. A G15 set-up would be my preference, but whatever is available can work. The cleaner, the better. I will handle shipping arraingments Thanks, Dan
  4. Zianian - I'll send you a PM For those interested, here is the original invoice for the 510 when sold new. Here she is in 1971 in Denver after a snow storm. The 510 was relocated to Houston in 1972/73. Circa 1985 in Houston, TX
  5. On the Roadster a jackshaft is used to drive the distributer. I had a mechanic install a new fuel pump WITHOUT the required spacer. Thus, the lever of the pump (which also drove the jackshaft) was not properly aligned, and stripped the jackshaft. After all was said and done, the shop FOUND my original pump spacer on the floorboard of my car (originally told me the car didn't have a fuel pump spacer). They were honest & stood up to the mistake. They fixed everything and were very professional about the situation.
  6. Was at the San Antonio Z Car Fiesta in April, and saw this cool 510 wagon for sale. I believe the price has been adjusted since showing up on Bring a Trailer. This was a california car, but now residing in the Texas Hill country. Not sure if the car is still available. If you are interested, I can get you the owners info. http://bringatrailer.com/2011/05/31/1971-datsun-510-wagon/
  7. The 67.5 roadster uses either a R16 or U20 engine. L series will not just drop into it. It would be more of an engine swap project vs just simply an engine replacement. But, I will say I have owned two L series roadsters and both were great runners.
  8. Bump - Meeting is this weekend. Looking like a good turnout!
  9. Good news. The 510 is alive & drove on the road to a recent Cars & Coffee Meet. Still lots of loose ends to complete, but it drove on its own power for the first time since about 1996.
