    Hood problems

I have had this problem since I owned my truck. It was a frozen latch cable. You can buy a new one, but a simple fix is to (of course after you open the hood) remove the cable, use an old water bottle, and drill a hole in the cap and thread the cable through it. The hang the bottle (cut the bottom off) upside down and put about a cup of oil in the bottle, letting in run down and through the inside of the cable over the next few hours to a day. That should free the frozen cable, and then reinstall! I know it sounds kind of ghetto as opposed to just buying a new hood cable but it worked like a charm for me. Here's a link to the process.

    Source for hubcaps?

So, getting back to the point of this thread. 1. Has anyone bought those, and what are your thoughts? 2. Do anyone have a domestic source for these either NOS, or repops that they have been happy with purchasing? 3. I need one fucking hubcap. I am currently rocking two different types on my truck. I will post a photo of both. Help identifying? I'm going to a datsun part meet up in Eagle Rock tomorrow. Any other SoCal guys going, I'd love to say hi.

    Source for hubcaps?

Here's the best option I've found on Ebay so far. Anyone else bought these?

    Thanks for the clarification Mike!

    Source for hubcaps?

If you want me to delete and repost I will. Wasn't sure how much difference there was between the models for hubcaps, which is why I posted it specifically in the 521 section.

    Source for hubcaps?

I just picked up a spare set of wheels to have powder coated red for my truck. Sadly, I took a hubcap off to make sure the bolt pattern was correct and didn't install it properly. It fell off on the freeway without my knowledge. So, I decided that I'll buy a full new set for the wheels once their done. Anyone have a source domestically for these? I see the few vendors on eBay but would like to stay in the US. Thanks guys!

    Carb help plz!!!

Sounds like you might have a clogged line or filter. Although, without seeing any pictures of the carb, who knows. Being as you took apart and cleaned the Carb, I'd start with missing parts that could cause the problem.
  10. Quite alright. I have looked them up, my mechanic says he can't find any. So I just thought I'd throw it out here and see if anyone had a verified source.
  11. Anyone have a source for these? https://flic.kr/p/TygSJC
  12. I'm bookmarking this as "I need to learn this, just not right now". Thanks again guys. My motorcycle mechanic is coming today to get the Aprilia running hot so I'm good until Karl comes back from the Spa.
  13. Neither. And beyond my scope of abilities. I have set the gap points, but I don't have a timing light, and the rear main seal is leaking anyways. The tax man givith, and he's going to the Spa. However, there will before and after shots, as I'm not going at this cheap. While that little bitch is picked out of that body. MAJOR shit will be done. Thanks again Mike, and the rest of Ratsun.net. I'll keep you posted on every thing that gets done. -Jeremy and Karl.
  14. That's why I maybe think it's just a slight gasket leak. Temp gauge in middle. Check Choke is fully off when warmed. Check.
  15. Here's a question, I don't have a way to check compression (yet), but would low compression, or a blown head gasket cause bogging during acceleration.
