  1. Well ladies and gentleman of the court i feel like i have enough money saved up to start the swap of my dreams. I will be going with a 2jz r154 combo in my 78 z and i couldnt be more excited to start. Im gonna first start with tearing down the suspension and reapeinting the compentents underside and engine bay and from there my build will begin. Any tips and word of motivation will be much appricated on this long expensive addiction. The only thin im really worried about is wiring the gauges/key to the engine so if anyone on here has done the swap please hmu
  2. yep i finally found a 1 row balancer new on ebay for 80 bucks and then i got the bolt and other supporting hardware from z car source for about 20 if i rember correctly. Honestly putting on was super skethch i took out my raidtor but i still barley see a damn thing eventually i was fairly confident it was straight and just started tightening down with the tool. Lol eventually it slipped on but at first i was sketched out that i didnt have it straight:D all is well now thanks guys as always!
  3. the bolt is gone but the threads are all still perfect i guess the bolt just thredad it self out, is the male part of the notch on the crank or the pulley?
  4. how do you paste a picture on here? the crank snout looks good it looks like only the balancer broke
  5. Long story short i turn the key hear a weird sound. Start driving around and notice temp gauge shoot up.Upon further inspection my harmonic balancer is hanging by only the fan belt! wtf how does a harmonic balancer even break??? anyways the only one i could find online is 300 at orileys is that my only option as far as replacing it? And even after i shell out the dough is this gonna be a bear of a job or does it bolt in? any advice is much appreciated guys!Ill try posting pics in a sec
  6. hey how did you remove the rivets on the rear tail light assembley? can you take them out without breaking them i really dont wanna break anything:3
  7. hey i posted this topic on electrical earlier but no one replied so i moved it here: Can either someone whos already done this post a picture of the hole they had to cut or someone with a 240z show my a picture behind the turn indicators? i really love the look of the 240z indicators and would like them on my car, if any on here has done it let me know. also is it plug and play or is some sodering needed to be done? any information is Greatly appreciated!
  8. i went to autozone and it was only 12.92 so not bad! that website usually taxes on everything i didn't even think to check there lol too damn expensive
  9. all good now it was the temp sensor thanks guys! very easy to replace
  10. Hey guys its been twelve hours and the car is still reading 250 so its defiantly the gauge Now how do i know if its the gauge or the sending unit? any tips would be super appreciated!
  11. alright im stumped on this one guys my car was overheats regardless of high low speeds so i decided the first thing to do would be to pull the thermostat out and see if that fixed the problem. At first the cars temperature came down and it was a little under 3/4 on the temp gauge then i parked and turned the car off for a minute but to my suprise when i turned the key on to see the temp it was redlined!! even after the car say for a good 30 minutes the gauge was still redlined?? do you think this is possibly the gauge is just wrong? the car doesnt leak antifreeze and is toped off, also ive noticed the top radiator tube doesnt get very hard could this be due to no thermostat installed
  12. i have not i just picked up the car yesterday and i just wanted to be sure before i started working on something thats not the problem, I will bled the system and report back thank you so much!
  13. hey guys i need some help diagnosing my pedal going to the floor i have 1977 280z and the brakes only catch on like the last half inch of the pedal then they sink to the floor. Ive noticed when i get in my car the pedal is hard but can still be pushed to the floor but once the car is on it straight away gos to the last half inch without any pressure the resivor is filled between min and max so im not missing brake fluid. I searched the brake forums but to no avail and i dont wanna replace the master cylnder and have it end up being the brake booster so if someone could point me in the right direction id really appreciate it thanks in advance ill go out and take some pics of my new z once i get er running right!
