  1. I bought the 252s cam from compcams and i have stock lash pads but does anybody know what size id need so I don't have to buy a bunch of different size lash pads? http://www.compperformancegroupstores.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CC&Product_Code=84-119-6&Category_Code= There is a link with all of the info on the cam. If anybody has done this same cam any info would be awesome, or if any info on the smartest way to do this. It's my first build so I don't want to blow it. Thanks everybody! Mark G.
  2. Yeah my bad the head I'm running is an E88, and yeah I plan to bore it out, the cylinders still look pretty good though, they still have cross hatch marks in them, I measured around the tops of all of them and they are all pretty much 86.mm but I dont have a way to measure them at different points on the inside, but either way I think ima do like you said and play it safe and just bore it out. So with flat tops would that be to high compression?
  3. So I'm rebuilding my L28 and I want to run flat pistons in it, am I able to just run 280zx non turbo pistons instead of the stock 280z dished ones? Just curious will it be too much compression? I am running a earlier model head on the block as well. Just curious if any of you guys have done this or a similar build and could give me some info! Thanks! Mark G.
  4. Okay for sure, glad I made sure first! Thanks guys!
  5. So they are these ones, will this work? BTW my head is a 240 head http://m.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240Z-69-73-OEM-Genuine-Japan-SU-S-U-Carbs-Manifold-Rebuilt-510-620-L16-/151957040350?nav=SEARCH
  6. I have been wanting to get round top SUs for my 74 260z 2+2, but I don't know if the screw amount matters? I found some 3 screw type for pretty cheap but need a rebuild and don't have everything then I found some but they are 2 screw and they have everything and have been re-manufactured and aren't much more at all, just want to know before I made a purchase. Anyway any info helps, Thanks guys! Mark G.
  7. The battery I had when I got the car was fried. So I went and bought a new one and started the car, then when I tried to shut off the car nothing happened. I talked to a buddy and he said it's probably cause it's internally regulated. Now I have to keep jumping the car and I think and I think the issue is frying the new battery too. And each time I shut the car off I have to pull the coil wire. I've looked into how to wire it but can't find any sure answer for a 260z. Any info helps! And if more info is needed on my end let me know! Thanks everyone!
  8. Okay, so this is kind of funny and kind of annoying. I double checked my fuse box which I haven't in a while sense I had ruled it out because I had replaced most of them that needed it and one was blown and a bunch of them were the wrong amp fuses which O'reily gave me, but it's on me too because I didn't double check. But basically I went threw them and flipped a few to different spots and tried my breaks and hazards and sure enough now they are working, which is awesome. Checking things over again that you already have is smart. I've been stressed for weeks about this and it was a god damn fuse issue haha
  9. Okay, so I was wrong, both of the connectors are the same and I switched them and still nothing. So both of them are fine. I'm not getting power to something? but idk where to look? :/
  10. Okay cool! The connectors to each unit are different is the only thing. And yes, one is slightly bigger which is the one that I'm pretty sure is messed up. What is the exact name of that unit? Is it just called a 4 way unit?? Thanks so much!
  11. Hey everybody, I just got my first Datsun! It's a 1974 260z 2+2 and I'm so stoked on it! Runs really well, the body is in awesome shape, almost all original, and it's so fun to drive, BUT I don't have break lights or hazards. The turn signals work both front and back, the running lights work, side markers, high beams, dash lights, just not the breaks or hazards. I checks the fuses and bulbs then realized that the blinkers run off of the same lights as the breaks. My buddy pulled the brake switch and tried it in his 510 and its working fine. Now I'm not sure what they are called but on the driver’s side by the pedals there are two cylinders, I unplugged both and tried all of the lights. I found out the smaller one towards the top to the right was for the blinkers so I plugged that one back in but left the other one unplugged then tried to mess with everything electrical in the car to see if it affected anything and it didn't. So do any of you think that is the source of my problem? Or anybody have some info on what steps I should go threw to figure this out? Any info helps! Thanks, Mark G.
