  1. Wow that is really cool I have never understood fully what the confederate flag stood for I just know that the klan and others stole that image long ago and made it into something it was not. What it means to me is that the people who fought under that flag knew they were outnumbered and wanted to protect their family’s and land from the invaders that wanted to take the inland water route where the Mississippi River started for commerce in the middle of United States , they had the east coast and the west coast but they wanted a way to get to the middle and didn’t want to pay the south so those people where fighting for what they believed in no matter what the cost and I respect that!
  2. if you are in northern California check it out https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/pts/d/petaluma-74-datsun-620-parts/7148713235.html
  3. Thanks all you guys now I know what to look for
  4. Thanks Wayno , sorry for stepping on your thread Hillbilly , that’s why Ratsun is so cool you can be reading any kind of post and see stuff you you need to figure out and someone always sets you straight.
  5. So if I find a 84-85 2wheel 5 speed I can swap my 73 L18 4 speed bell hiding and make it work that way? I think I follow
  6. I thought there were two a long and a short , but I definitely need the 26 1/2 one as I have a divorced Dana 20 transfer case and I don’t feel like moving everything I will just stick with my 4 speed
  7. The one I need is roughly 26 1/2” from face of bell housing to end of case at tailshaft
  8. Is that one 5 speed short one for a truck I am looking for one
  9. Nice fab work , it’s good to see someone not afraid to tackle some custom work like this . You will love that Prius power assist I put a 09 unit in my 620 last year ( its a homemade 4x4 with cj5 running gear) and now I can drink my coffee while I drive minus looking out for big bumps, keep up the nice work
  10. I just thought about it if you want to look at the unit go on eBay and type in electric power steering and look for 04-09 Prius units , the inner tube is the same size housing as the 620 so you can zip wheel the outer tube off leaving the top 11/2” of the outer tube and get rid of all that crap on it and just tack weld the upper 11/2” of the outer tube on. If you want to see it work watch on utube type in same electric power steering they show a number of units
  11. Ya I took pics and measurements all the way through but I have not posted anything in so long my bucket account is closed, any way the way it handles is the same as before it is just easier to correct useing one instead of two. I have 31x10x15 tires on it and I can turn the wheels at a standstill with one hand and the drive ability is much better because of this ease
  12. Ya the Prius unit came with lower knuckles and ECU unit and I think the sat unit needs some kind of conversion box that they are having trouble with , I could be wrong but I remember reading some along those lines, the other reason for the Prius unit is if you lose power to it the failsafe goes back to Manual steering so you won’t be stuck in the middle of nowhere
  13. So I have wanted power steering in my 73 620 4x4 forever but it seemed like a treasure hunt for the right parts . I was cruising the internet for parts one day and I started reading about electric power assist steering it’s seems they have been putting it in older muscle cars for awhile then I looked a 4x4 forums and read they have started yawing it to and had goods things to say so I went on eBay got a 04-09 unit from a Prius and started it went in fairly easy and I gotta say I love it so figure I would give you guys FYI look into it
  14. I have the same front part of that consule what’s the glove box part out of, I would like to find something like that, the dog will probably be pissed he lost his spot though
