  1. Last week my truck died on me driving home. It's a 1974 620. I noticed there wasn't any fuel in the float. I removed the recently replaced mechanical fuel pump to find that the spring was missing off the piece that goes into the motor. Should I be worried about if the spring may still be somewhere in the motor? Also, how far in can it go? Sorry if this a stupid question but I'm not only new to Datsuns but new to motors too.
  2. What what!! Rock Auto to the rescue. Ordered the modulator, did the swap, no more smoke! Success!
  3. Interesting. I was all thinking this was the wrong carb, as rough as it was running when I got it. Now I know... B210? Awesome. At least they're Datsun seats.
  4. I was curious about the carb. Guy I bought it from said he just had a new one put in along with the alternator and battery.
  5. Sorry about the multiple posts...I forgot to show the interior. The driver's side seat is shot, but the passenger's side is like new. Not a crack or even a wrinkle on it! Dude who originally bought it back in '74 only drove it on the farm and to and from the store to get supplies. I'm also not sure what the seats are from. They look like they're era accurate but I know it had a bench originally.
  6. The original color was that light green. Apparently the Alabama farmer who owned it before me wasn't too thrilled with such a happy color. LOL.
  7. Awesome. I'm hoping to have time one of these days to post some pics. Lol
  8. The oil and antifreeze looks good. No overheating or fluids under truck when parking. I hadn't had to add any ATF until I noticed it shifting rough and skipping. I'm certain there is a vacuum issue. Now to just track it down. I'd seen another article on the AT diaphragm going out and it sucking in fluid and burning it here. http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=Automatic_Transmission
  9. Cool. Thanks for the info. It's slight smoky while idling but really puffs out while accelerating and on shifts. Looks like white smoke. Also, a new problem has arisen and I'm not sure if it's related. I had my fluid on my automatic transmission swapped out and was told that everything looked ok it was just low. Since then I've had to add an additional quart or two each time I drive. I've read elsewhere that the tranny fluid could be getting pulled in and burnt off. Is this possible?
  10. I was looking for a 720 on CraigsList thinking that'd be the oldest I'd find. I had a 720 KingCab in high school and wanted to get another. Then BAM, there's a 620! 127,000 original miles, automatic and in awesome shape. Long story short, I've now changed out the fuel pump and filter, spark plugs, PCV valve, muffler and have rims waiting. (18" Titan Steelies) Since doing all this work under the hood it's started smoking pretty bad. Bluish, white in color. I have some, not a whole lot, of experience with carborated motors. Any suggestions on what I should check next would be greatly appreciated. BTW, how do I post a pic? For some reason I'm not seeing a way to do that. Lol.
