  4. Hey Guys thought i'd start a Thread and introduce myself, My names Jed and im from England i work for Honda uk and have just bought my first Datsun which so happens to be my Favourite car of all time the Datsun Fairlady Z its a 1974 260Z 2 seater and is in dire need of help, I had been on the hunt for a serious Fairlady project for the last 3 years but in England you either find complete wrecks for onwards and upwards of £4000 or really nice vehicles for £15000 and up both of which are out of my price range sadly the reason is beacause they are just so rare over here and the people that do have them tend to hold on to them like its a lifeline, I stumbled across my new purchase by mere chance, one day after work passing a classic car restorers yard a few cars caught my eye such as some old mk1 escort rallyes and mini cooper classics which where sat in sun doing absolutely nothing at all, i had a look round with a chap who turned out to be the owner of said business who was more than happy to talk to me about everything he has and does with very little time he has, an hour or so passed and i decided it was time to go home i was walking out of the yard when i saw a car shaped car cover sat behind some containers... i instantly recognised the rear slope of the back of the car that was slightly uncovered and knew straight away, it cant be i thought.... the car had been searching for all this time , surely not? , i rushed over and there she was sat in all her rusty glory just waiting for me to find her, i ran back over to the owner and said you have to sell me this piece of japanese history!, he told me it had been his favourite car for decades but never had enough time to restore it due to too much work, after another hour of talking we came to an agreement i gave him a handshake and £550.00 for a (Kind of) complete 1974 Datsun 260z , it had full interior including seats dash and centre console all sat in a seperate room with the other 2 racing wheels, not only that but the engine was also sat in dry storage all numbers matching car... Now being much less experienced than literally all of you Datsun fellow fans i understand this car needs a HEEEELLLLL of a lot of work to get it back and running again but its meant to be a good 2 - 4 year project that i can work on and be proud of, luckily me and my brother do quite alot of welding and fabricating in our spare time but this may be a jobby that some clever pros need to input on, if your still reading great! and thankyou! , below are the pictures of my new to me Datsun its a lot of work as i said but tbh i cant wait to get cracking...
