  1. also, for others who might come across this post looking for answers, i had a similar problem. and im surprised im the first to post this, but clean out that gas tank!, i looked down in mine and it looked like just a small amount of rust, but after sticking a rod down in the tank it went into what i thought was the bottom about 3/4 of an inch! nothing but decomposed rust and debris, sludge and all kinds of other good stuff. Cleaned it out, replaced the pump, filter, and threw and extra filter in front of the pump for safety measures. Havnt had an issue since.
  2. hate to say it man, but i think you might have a hard time finding a gas tank, only ones i could find were out of my price range (but thats just me). also, pull a part shoves a screw driver through em to drain the gas (even though theres a drain plug, which is super convenient btw). if you pull a used one make sure you get it clean and coated, itl save you alot of heartache in the future. heres one i came across that comes with the fuel sending unit (which can also be a tad tricky to find/not cheap) http://www.zcarsource.com/gas-tank-sending-unit-set-240z-260z-280z_8_55263.html those are reconditioned, they also offer the tank and sending unit seperatly. i too have a 78, and yes, theyre the best ;D
  3. Not sure about whether it will fit or not, but heres a 280z dash on ebay, says it was restored http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-280z-dashboard-74-5-76-restored-/321691062870?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ae6481256&vxp=mtr&rmvSB=true
  4. haha, thanks man, but im about as far away from you as i can get, South Carolina here, i think ima have the sho fab some replacements
  5. thats it exactly, ill do that :) thanks for the advice!
  6. if im not mistaken those are for 240z slopoke, but i could be wrong
  7. i posted some pics in on the post pics of your z here thread, also, are those part numbers just for the front seat mounts, or would the left and right each come as a set with the rear mounts of the front seat
  8. new to the site, heres my baby! Before mguires ultimate compound (all oxidized, rubbing compound didnt even touch it) After mcguires ultimate compound :)
  9. thanks :) ill star the search again, those part numbers are way more to go off of than what i had! and ill get a few pics up :)
  10. Im having the floor pans in my 78 280z replaced (finally) and the shop doing it recommended that i purchase new seat rails (the ones that look to be welded to the floor pan that the seat and bracket bolt to) im havng a really hard time finding them, i feel like im just calling them the wrong thng or phrasing my google search incorrectly. Any advice on where i could find these things or a certain word combination to use on google? i keep finding aftermarket seat brackets and would prefer OE ones. They dont have to be NOS or anything, just something the orignal seats will bolt to. The gentleman who gave me the estimate on the work (600 in labor) is a long time z fan and owns several of the cars, so i trust and value his opinion on replacing the mounts. Ill try to include a picture of the floor pan and the front mount in this post. Thanks in advance!
