I've got a 4wd 85 and I was just playing with the idea of swapping the front end for a solid axle set up. Just a thought, but dose anyone have any ideas on what kind of work that would take and ware would you start really?
this is what I've been looking for! Thank you!!! So if I have this right now I just undo the jet screw and insert it there? And if so do I need one for both sides?
Ok that makes more sense, so the fuel cutoff must be in the fuel line then not on the actual card? That really is the only thing stoping me from ordering the cutoff is that I have no idea how it installs, someone on hear told me I may need a hole new carb
I did lower my idle to 6 or 700 rpm and it did help a lot I haven't ordered a cut off yet but I will let you know! I did wonder if it would help to install a fuel regulator? Dose anyone have any ideas on that
That is a good question I don't recall mine having a vacant port for somthing like this, dose it insert into the intake manifold? As I said befor I've never done any carb work befor this
Can you install a cutoff and if so is it an expensive part or what? This is the first carb work I've ever done I just got tired of the stock carb. Also should I install a fuel pressure regulator I've heard that the webers only need like 3 pounds of pressure and I have the stock fuel pump still and I think they push 6 to 7 pounds correct me if I'm wrong I'm not an expert by any means, haha
My idle is a touch high, it seams to change randomly tho, thank you I wasn't aware that would cause dieseling thank you, I'll lower it and see what happens
Ok... Almost there, I've got all the vacume leaks taken care of. I think I've got everything hooked up right and I'm getting close with the mixture and timing, it seams to run close to tip top, but now it's dieseling realy badly, way worse than befor but only when the engine is warmed up, any ideas to what's causing the dieseling? Is it just the mixture isn't right yet or is it something different
Finally!! I got it figured out it was a leak under the adapter. I got a new gasket and it runs clean. Now I just gotta adjust my mixture and timing a bit
So I've adjusted my timing and mixture and it's still sputtering and putting, it's just not running clean if at all and nothing so far has helped at all I can get the idle to change but it still is sputtering and backfiring thru the carb any ideas
I did order from redline, so I might try the customer support tomorrow but I'll try turning the mixture some more to it started to rain on me and I lost my drive i had to step away for the day
