I agree that I don't need to do anything to the brakes. Braking (when the car has brake fluid) so far hasn't been a problem. It's still something I plan on changing someday. It's pretty easy getting lost dreaming of what you could do with your car and never actually get anything substantial done. So I appreciate your reminder to keep my priorities straight. Getting the car roadworthy is definitely number one on the list!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the wipers aren't working. The motor was making noise when I tried to turn it on, but the linkage wasn't moving. Completely rusted and not moving when I pulled it off the car. The linkage has been soaking for a while in evapo-rust. Wish I had before pictures, because there is an impressive difference before and after. Still a bit of rust left on it, but considering it looked like a solid bar of rust when I pulled it off the car, I'd say the evapo-rust stuff is working.
  3. Hey, good stuff! Congrats!

So far I've just done some routine maintenance stuff. Replaced the plugs with some NGK's, replaced the spark wires, distributor cap and rotor. It came with a K&N air filter, so I pulled it out to clean it up and found out that it is melting a bit and flaky. Not sure if it was installed improperly so it was resting on the carb horn, or why that happened. K&N replaced my filter under their warranty though, so I've got a brand new one. I haven't installed it yet, since I want to figure out why the last one melted first. I found out that my apartment complex is cool with me working on my car, but isn't happy with my doing anything involving fluids. So I took the car to the local shop to get the radiator flushed and the oil changed. That kind of ruins my plans for dropping the fuel tank to get rid of the rust on that and try and fix the leaks. I already bought the new fuel lines for it too. Anyway, here's some more pics! (or oics I guess) The custom interior (the good looking unholy parts): Lots of random wires that lead nowhere in this car. Some handy ventilation for my feet when it gets hot outside. Melted air filter.

Ha ha ha, I know the feeling! I went through a couple rounds of trying to attach pics using Flickr and Google drive and Skydrive before giving up and tossing the photos in the bucket. Speaking of Oics, did everyone just decide they liked using that instead of pics or does OIC = oh I see?

Yeah, it was the one on craigslist up in Ukiah.

It's definitely going to be a good project to work on. I kinda like the color myself, but it doesn't quite look right with the original orange paint in the engine bay. One of the previous owners had a custom interior that matched the exterior paint. It probably looked nice when it was originally done, but it's a bit torn up at this point.

This is my 240z. I've only had her for a couple weeks and I'm not sure what my plans are for it yet. Interior isn't in great shape. Exterior is rough. It's leaking fuel from somewhere and misfiring. Brake fluid was empty in one of the reservoirs the other day too, so it's probably leaking brake fluid as well. Rear disk brake conversion is somewhere on my to do list because I hate working with drums.
