    Cab to front fender seal

I don't know how to post a photo. You can see the seal by looking from the door hinge opening towards the front of the truck. The part number is 63811-B5000 but its discontinued as are most parts. It is also listed in the on line parts manual for 72-79 620, #8 in the fender, hood ledge and radiator support section. Thanks for your reply.
  2. in the mist of getting a 620 ready for paint. Can anyone tell me the size of the seal, rubber strip that runs between the back of the fender/ cab down to the frame. I have looked every where and can't find any info on it. It looks to be 5/8ths wide but I don't know the space between the cab and fender. Any info would be appreciated
  3. Hope some one can help me out with the right location of the bed mounting bolts. Helping my son with his project, pulled the bed off, to treat rust under the floor. There are 8 mounting bolts, only 4 have rubber biscuit washers. I forgot, I know should have taken more photos, but can any one help me out with their placement. I think both rubber biscuits went in the two rear mounting points on either side but not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
  4. Thanks for the advice, will give that a try
  5. I am getting around to putting in new window channel in the 620. I read in the manual that you need to remove the door rubber at the top of the door and also remove the window itself. Does it work to just drop the window inside the door? does the window have to be moved or could you feed the channel around it, or take the lower end channel supports off inside the door to aid the install. Planning on using 3m weatherstripping glue to install . Any info would be appreciated thanks
  6. I took the advice and lowered the tire pressure and that made all the difference, I plan on having it aligned as soon as I finish some other improvements, don't use it as a daily driver but I really appreciate the suggestions, I will add photos when I can get my kid to show the old man how to. This forum has been a great source of info and I do appreciate it
  7. I have a 73 620 regular bed that I have been working on with my son. We have rebuilt most of the front suspension, added disc brakes, redone the interior, added kyb shocks etc. We have titan 17 inch wheels for it with 225x45x17 tires at 36 lbs pressure. i reindex the bars one notch, and added 2 inch blocks to the rear. I put in energy suspension bump stops an, measured the front drop at 2 and 1/4 inches. We have about 1 and 1/2 to 1 and 3/4 before the bump stop hits. I cut the rear bump stops down 2 inches. I drove the truck for a short period of time and found that it was really bouncy for lack of a better term. I didn't think that would happened with just 2 inch drop. The tires are new with 36 lbs in them and maybe that is too much for the light weight truck. The truck also needs to be aligned, but its not bad as far as toe and chamber right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I know I can raise the shock towers 2 inches but I didn't think I would have to with this little of a drop. Or did I do something incorrectly. thanks I would post photos but my son needs to help with that. I will do it later as I kept a photo record of the changes. the forum has been a wealth of information and yes I did use the search engine and read all.
  8. I know this is a little late, but I have a 73 620 I have been working on for some time. I found that Retro Sound makes an very small radio that does fit the dash with minimal cutting, the plastic divider on the original radio only. The time consuming part is adjusting the radio to fit the dash, when done, it fits like it was made for it, the radio comes in various models I used the Zuma ordered though Jegs, the cheapest price for just the radio, no face plate and no knobs. The knobs have to be purchased through Retro Sound as they are proprietary and only work on their radios and you can chose which ones fit your truck. Radio, no cd, was about 200, includes rcas, built in amp, usb, 2 additional ports. I ran some JBL speakers in the kick panels with 5/8s O rings of mdf no cutting required and a small Rockford amp under the seat. I had a Sony CD player hanging around, but there was no way it would work in the curved dash and the glove box or under the seat with a remote did not appeal to me. Expensive but I think it was worth it, just my opinion thought I would share, also Retro Sound does not list the Zuma as fitting a 620 but look at the measurements on their web site and it matches the stock radio opening with out modifications, sound with this set up is very good . I will try to post some photos of the whole project but I need my kid to help with that, I am computer challenged ........ Best
  9. Thanks for the advice, still up in the air now my son wants to go with some 17 inch titans he found......I will cut the hub down with the new brakes, I found the front suspension needs attention and now the rear brake is stuck, clue was the smell on the drive home, oh the joy of old things. I took some photos but I will have to wait for the engineer son to give me a hand to post them but I really appreciate you getting back to me. I have read all kinds of stuff on the brake conversion and now I question whether I should use the stock 3/4 MC or switch to the later drum disc on saw a 76 model, the z model is just too expensive not sure I need that as this is a family project truck not a race car. Any thoughts please let me know, I have a lot to learn see ya
  10. First thanks for a great forum, I am a new member, mostly in to muscle cars and a 32 Ford over the past years. Since I am retired I have more time to tinker and enjoy them more. I have recently received an original 73 620 from my father in law which needs a little up dating. The forum has been a wealth of information which I will continue to poor over. Having driven it before, I hate the brakes and that is one of the first changes, beebani brackets and D21 calipers. I am a newbie with Datsuns and plan on a father son project not going crazy but just updating and making things a little better. I want to lower the front a little and I and concerned about the clearance in both the front and the back suspensions. Idon't want to make it a pain to drive. I have a chance to buy some GM rims, 16x7 with 5 1/4 back space at the right price but I cant take the measurements as the truck is not at my home yet. and I want to make sure I will have enough clearance for them. I have been all over the forum and read about the hubs etc and running titans but no where can i find how deep i can go. I don't imagine the front will down more than 2-3 inch just to give it a slight rake in the front if that helps. Hope some one can put me on the right track Thanks
