Gonna bump an old thread....sans the help of tenafter I'm in the same boat as datmo was...I got 280zx housings brakes etc, some aw11 inserts, and s13 camber plates.....I thought it was a fairly straight forward job , the insert doesn't sit snug, the gland nuts aren't compatible with the strut....is there a write up on how to do all of this? Search function came up with nothing. I'm completely lost
  7. I am looking for the whole unit that goes in the side of my transmission. The one that came out of my 4spd was too long if I am not mistaken
  8. I will buck up and make a build thread soon here...short of strut modifying all the car needs is a lower rad hose set up, and finding someone to wire up the ka and she should be ready to go up the road once and make sure all is gravy!!
  9. As much as I like my wagon and the condition it's in considering age, I would do unspeakable things to acquire a cleaner coupe or sedan shell....trades anyone??? Lol!

  11. I was going by a thread on here that listed the fronts as a usable swap as well. I never considered getting the sw20 and spacing them up accordingly. I have no idea how to gauge how low I want to go. I've only ever actually lowered my previous cars with off the shelf adjustable coilovers. I think what I will do is space them to the top of my strut and remove washers and cut the housing accordingly. Damn I really like the input on this thread..gets the gears turnin. Lol. Edit: why the tittles does rockauto only have unsealed strut units :( I like shopping at rock auto
  12. Hey mike so money has turned around for me, finally got around to ordering the pinion with the part number listed for vg hardbody, not even Nissan stocks them anymore. Also tried online vendors to find it's a discontinued part. Do you have one or know where I should be looking next?
  13. Hopefully someone can help, I'm having a hard time sourcing aw11 gas shocks. Was looking at kyb gr2 due to costs but every online site I have found has listed them as unsealed units. Ideas??
  14. Most people seem to have no issue cutting the housing to suit the strut instead. All in all how much lower did you go in the front?
  15. Hey scooter how tall of springs are you running to suit the mr2 inserts? I have yet to buy any inserts, I was set on the aw11 kybs off of rockauto now someone told me how great the kyb agx units are for camaros with the adj dampening but for nearly double the cost I can't decide if it's worth it
