  1. Apologies for not posting a link, I was on the forum on my phone so I didn't have an easy way to copy and paste the link. Thanks Laecaon, just wanted to make sure that it fit the bows properly with enough left to get the posts. Yep, I'm ready. I'm in the process of taking it down to shell for media blasting. Just trying to line up all my parts now so as soon as I get back from paint I can start reassembling Yup, that's them, thanks terolla!
  2. Curious if anyone has bought one of these headliners from goliners on ebay, and what their experience was as far as quality and fitment?
  3. So here's where I'm at so far...The rear passenger quarter is pretty rust hammered past the wheel well...front fender was crunched in pretty well right at where the fender trim meets the headlight bezel. but I think I can hammer and dollie it out pretty well. trying to stop getting distracted by that stuff until I have it down to a shell
  4. :w00t: lol...clicked on BBCode link and pasted photobucket link...for some reason when I was using the link and image buttons it just locked me on the pop up window
  5. When I was 16, my mom bought me my first car, a 1971 2dr. Datsun 510. I loved it, but like every teenager, I rode it hard all the way into the ground. 21 years later, I just bought a '72 2dr. Unfortunately, with my blinders on I didn't really give it the inspection I would on the other cars I normally buy. It has sat covered in my driveway for a few months, and I finally got around to seeing what needed to be done. To my dismay...a full resto. After a week of scouring the Ratsun forum, I know it is going to be brutal finding stuff for it, definitely quality rubber, which has all been decimated by the Arizona desert where the car sat not running for 14 years...but I'm stoked to be doing it. Enough babbling, here is a pic of "Krusty" (aptly named) at the very start! I will post more pics as I go.
  6. never mind...I figured out a way to do it...if moderator can delete this thread
  7. I am having an issue posting pics. I have tried every option possible but it will not go past the pop up box. it won't allow me to click ok or cancel. and I have to refresh the page just to get out of it. Anyone know what that's about?
  8. Perfect thisismatt...that was exactly what I needed! thank you! In the process of stripping to shell than sending off to media blasting. than the real fun begins!
  9. Best and correct way to mount the 510 body to a rotisserie for undercoating and paint?
  10. Hopefully soon! Unless i can find a donor car i am stalled on this resto until these come out...cue the sad clown music
  11. I know this post is old so sorry for bumping it back up, but really hoping someone has a good pic of the shift layout plate...i have the plate on my '72 2dr. but it needs a mild reconditioning and i haven't been able to find a clean pic of how it looked from factory. Any help would be stellar! Since my console is old and almost ready to fall apart I'm going to make a fiberglass mold and make a new one off the old factory one ...at least i can paint match that to whatever i choose for interior color
  12. Your post is a lifesaver Creepy Cruiser! As i was dropping the tank on my '72 last night every piece of rubber just crumbled in my hand...needless to say i will be trying your method this week. Thank you for this post!
  13. I am trying to breathe life back into a 1972 Datsun 510 I picked up recently but am having a near impossible time finding a carb rebuild kit for the Hitachi DAH 328. Does anyone have a link they can share to point me in the right direction. Google has been zero help, and the only mention I was able to find of the DAH 328 carb was from 4 years ago on this forum, and there was no info to help me on that post...any help would be sooo appreciated! Thanks
