  1. Had to add some patches in front of the rocker as well.
  2. Got the new drivers side rocker in. The fit wasn't very good, so I had to do quite a bit of massaging. It'll work ok though.
  3. The floor pan I bought was about 22ga also. And yes, it did the same thing. I'm not that concerned about it. You could try the hammer route, but it may come back. You could also bend up a thin gauge c channel (maybe 0.375x1.5x18in or so), and plug weld it to the underside of the pan. That would stiffen it up nicely. not so great if you're going for an original look though.
  4. Then the DS rear cab support and floor patch
  5. Got the DS front cab support fabbed up and installed. As well as the new floor pan. lled
  6. Thanks Matty, I like your tow vehicle. I've got a couple of those myself. I've been building a '71 GMC for the past 2.5 years or so, its about 90% done, hopefully have it on the road this summer. Also have a '72 I use as my work horse. Those trucks are my true love. Russ
  7. All the rot on the driver's side cutout. Now starting to add some of the new metal.
  8. Yeah, those pictures are from the PO's yard, he had quite the fleet. Everything really rusty though
  9. So that's a fourth Canadian truck. Yeah I didn't think it would be anything performance wise, but kinf of wondering if it was a dealer add-on? and maybe they all came from the same dealer? I was told this truck had a camper on it most of its life. Maybe it was a dealer that specialized in 'camper special' datsuns and they rolled off the lots with decals and camper, it seems that this one has dealer added tie downs (one at the front of the box and one on the bumper). My 72 gmc is the custom camper edition, dealer added tie downs, front spare tire holder, camper wiring, oh and a camper. I like to find out the how and why of these kind of things, gives the truck a bit more history. More of a story to tell.
  10. The Frame mount is in good shape, but I'm guessing there should be a bit more on the body side, if any one has a picture of the bottom side of the cab mount area (front and back) that'd be great, I'm going to have to fab something up.
  11. Nice, this one is just going to be: get rid of the rust, paint it, fix anything that needs fixing, and drive. Hopefully be on the road in the spring.
  12. Got it home and pulled out the interior to give me a better idea of what I was in for. Found some of that famous Datsun Rust!
  13. Well that's third Canadian truck I've seen with that. It must be a Canadian thing, the would explain the maple leaf. Is yours the #227 Orange as well?
