  1. Well the guy from Araya Wheels texted me about the wheels and said they are pretty much done- The specs I gave him stressed lip size over a specific offset so I'm not sure what the final offset comes out to, but its around -40. They were 14x6.5 et-1 and now they're 15x11 approx. et-40 with a 6" lip. Hopefully he can get some better pics before he ships them but I'll be able to unbox them when I'm home for fall break.
  2. My other friend got some nicer rollers up at skyline this package came in the other day.. New LCAs front and rear, and front tension control rods and associated bushings from techno toy tuning My friend has all of my tools since I'm helping him install a lift kit on his jeep so I'll try to get all that in maybe this weekend- so much to do and so little time Found this set of wheels for a really good price- and knowing that the equips are temporary I went for it. They are focus racing by ssr 14x6.5 et-1 they really remind me of the HRE 505's that are on Yuta Akaishi's 240z (the rusted out one with black wheels). The sizes are pretty lame though so I'm having a pair of them widened at Araya wheels. I think I'll run my rear equips in the front and these in the rear until I can also get the fronts widened which might be this summer. Don't want to give away too much but think wide and negative offsets- he says lead time is about 3 months so I should get to mock them up over winter break
  3. My brakes were squealing really bad so I swapped out the brake pads, a surprisingly easy job: wheels off Caliper can stay attached to spindle Pull out clips for retaining pins slide out retaining pins pop off retaining clips on both both calipers slide out old pads and slide new ones in, getting the new ones in was a little tricky with out a caliper press (presses the piston in to make sliding in the new pad easier) but I got it done with minimal drama then I rolled the fenders in the rear since it was rubbing pretty bad and took some shots of the car- front needs to come down more.. I have some adjustable arms and links in the mail from Techno Toy Tuning that will get here today- Rear LCA, Front LCA, and Front Tension Control rod. Should have those in this weekend. Coils are on the back burner since it rides fine with the springs mildly cut and I really need to dial out some toe in the rear.
  4. Just got my window louvers(louvres?) in the mail and test fit them. There is some hardware missing, and the paint is no bueno. I'll have to figure out how to mount it and then I'll sand it down and paint it black- probably just rattle can it. Small update, but that's where I'm at, I decided to not be a wuss and lower the front more- pics soon
  5. The deed is done.. I haven't bought coils yet, but fret not! I think I found a set of 4 GC coilovers for $250 and those should get here soon! So I cut 2 coils rear and 1.5 front. I really didnt wanna lower it any more than that. I can still do speed bumps, driveways, and have fun driving it, but there is a noticeable reverse rake.. so I guess the front needs to come down another 1/2" Here's where the cars at now- My friend also took some pictures up at skyline blvd but unfortunately they are pre-lowering..
  6. The exhaust took wayyy longer than expected but it came out sounding great and looks pretty sweet too. Its quiet-ish at idle and up to 3.5k but after that it gets pretty raspy and metallic. Its hard not to shift at 4k now haha Its 2.25" piping, no cat, no resonator, and then vertical glass packs with angle cut tips: Then I test fit the wheels: I could not have asked for better sizing on stock fenders. The wheel pokes an inch but since they're 15s its not too close to the fenders, and the 195s will tuck up nicely under the fneders and I might even get away with just a roll, no pull, and no added camber. Then came the spoiler/airdam. MSA victory spoiler: I didnt get any good pictures of the airdam since dinner pushed the install till after sun down so I'll get some better pictures with my friends camera of all the new parts. This is just a mock up on the jack and wood blocks (MSA urethane airdam): And this was in the parking lot at work: Feel free to leave feedback!
  7. were those rocket bunny s13 flares? What ever they are they look pretty cool!
  8. The exhaust should be done today or Friday. I don't plan on modifying the stock L24 so I just went with 2.25" piping, no cat, no resonator, and a muffler. Should be decently loud but anything is better than the open headers lol. New parts!! Ran out of space in the garage so they're chilling in my room haha MSA Victory spoiler, Urethane airdam, and headlight covers. The fender mirrors are on back order and will take eons to arrive. Got the tires mounted- 195/55r15 on 15x8.5/9" Stretch on the 8.5" Stretch on the 9" And the last shot before they are on the car.. I know, I know just mount the damn wheels already- I agree! I'll check back in Friday with a test fit.
  9. Came home to these yesterday!! They're rota shakotan in 15x8 et0 all around. I opened up a box to take a look inside: Those aren't rotas..? Oh yeah, these must be the Equip 03's I bought off Zilvia. 15x8.5 et-6 ~3" lip 15x9 et-3 ~4" lip I'll test fit them once I get the car back from getting the exhaust done. And there are a few boxes heading up the California coast from theZstore so next update the car should look pretty different!
  10. I'm copying this from my build on stanceworks but I'll update both Here's my other build: 1982 Volvo 242 Turbo: Recently picked up a datsun 240z, lets get right into it! Day I got it- That motor ran like crap- blew smoke ( I think it was burning oil) and the carbs were at about 0/10 so idecided to pull that motor and swap in my dad's L24/5 speed since he's putting an sr20 in his. So I didn't lie! It does have an engine swap- just the same stock motor from a 1 year older car.. next sumer something inline and turbo (rb20, sr20, 1jz) will be going in, I just figured if I had a mint running L24 I might as well get that for free! Went down to santa clara at the shop its getting worked on- pulled that motor: Brought that to my house, unloaded and pulled my motor: had to reorganize/shuffle some parts around: aaand new engine/trans back in the car, its that easy! (give or take a few steps, results may vary) I got it running yesterday, and drove it to work today with only one problem- it won't shut off when I pull the key out.. but I'd rather try to get a running engine to die than vice versa. Immediate plans include: Megan weld on coils from mickinney motorsports IMSA 3 piece ducktail MSA urathane air dam eventually Work euip 01/03s and flares will follow once I have enough money but the konig rewinds or what ever are on there look pretty good imo. Thats it for now.. work on it should really pick up once I get some parts in.
