  1. I broke my "vent push" knob when I was taking out my old dash pad to replace it. Any chance you would sell me the one in this car? Marc
  2. Alright. I will try that again. Thanks
  3. Hello, Please help me. I am trying to remove my old cracked dash pad and replace it with the restored one. I can't get the windo washer knob off. It's the illuminated kind. 1973 1200 coupe. Has the words "wipe/wash" on it. Have tried every way I've seen on here but I think they are all for the non illuminated knobs. Hank you so much! Marc
  4. Thank you so much everyone!! am following up on all of those leads. Some I had tried already but a lot of new paths to explore. You guys rock! Will let you know what I find out. Marc

    Frustration!

OK, I am restoring a 1973 1200 coup to new. Have found almost every part I need as either NOS, salvage, or good quality reproduction except one. . .those Front wing/vent window gasket/seals! (You know, those triangle shaped windows on the front doors that pivot opened). I have everything except the gasket/seals. . . I have found them for every other freekin model they ever made but not the coup. So, here is my question. Can you buy ones for another 1200 body style like the sedan or truck and modify them? Can you get them from another model car and modify? does anyone have any ideas or know if they are being reproduced or available? Thanks, Marc
  6. Just an FYI, I removed the word "grandpa" so now it just says "world's greatest". I think I can love with that:)
  7. Thanks njoz, Already checked the new datsun parts website. No luck there.
  8. Restoration starts today. First order to get it in perfect running order, safe, and rust free. Luckily there is a Datsun specialist near me.
  9. Anybody have any new leads on finding the "hard to find" parts or refurbished/replica parts? Having a heck of a time finding a 1200 glove box door!
  10. Don't be sorry. I will find one. All part of the fun. Keep an eye out for me though? Thanks, Marc

    My new baby!

So, bought a 1200 in 1986 when I graduated college as my first car. Drove it for 5 years and traded it in for a Camaro Z28 so I could pick up chicks. That part never really panned out but I did love my Camaro and the Camaro after that. About 2 years ago, I started wanting my old orange Datsun 1200 back. Took me 2 years to find one that wasn't turned into a race car or just a 1200 shaped pile of rust. This is what I got. Found it in Oakland. Had it about 3 weeks now. LOVE IT! Plan on completely restoring it. Any help or advice you could give would be greatly appreciated! Enjoy the pictures! https://www.dropbox.com/sc/xu3tn32v8avh6gh/AAD7UmQqBwa1HSSujOt0WDwTa#
  12. Any chance you would be willing to sell the glove box door? Just bought a 1200 a couple weeks ago. In pretty good shape. almost all original and 95% there. Found it in Oakland. It's just like the one I bought as my first car in 1986 when I graduated high school. Plan on restoring it completely.
