  1. you would have to know the year truck you pulled it off. 80-82 has style A. 83+ have style B. Along with the 4x4s have different styles i believe as well. You'd need to find out what year the truck was you took parts off of and go from there or even try your local parts place. Some parts its nice to get locally for this reason.
  2. Thank you very much. Bled my brakes and coolant system some more today drove it to work. Ive got a mystery starting problem new starter but sometimes it takes a couple trys to start it got the speedo working again. Now its just a matter of tuning and and what not.
  3. Shes running and moving under her own power. I have a starting issue im working with but she runs great hit the rpms just right and she had that perfect sound manual transmission is in and going i couldn't love this truck anymore than i do now. The feel and everything ooh baby shes going good just a few things to work out now.
  4. Alright shes back together clutch pedal in. Running and timed. Waiting to see if she drives and finishing up the exhaust system. Electric fan wired up. Working on photos cause im to excited to have her running again killed the starter then got a new one and shes on the spot with timing and all. Carbs tuned. Cant wait for the drive. 6 months later since i spun the rod. now thats something i can drink to. No i didnt pull the dash to swap pedal assemblys. It wasnt easy but i pulled the rod and swapped the pedals/rods out.
  5. Alright so I polished my crank and reassembled the z24 no I didnt send it in for machine work I used 320 grit emery cloth. used a scotch brite type pad to clean my head and headgasket and threw a new set of rods in. I also swapped bellhousings on the wide ratio 280zx transmission I have bearings were all good and the same size and it went together no problem. heres pictures now. all thats left to do involves rolling the truck in and putting it all together.
  6. Mike it is a mid ratio 280zx transmission also the bearings were the same so the transmission went right together no problem. working on posting a update here in a few
  7. Heres a picture for you mike. I couldnt find really any numbers on the side which i found a little odd.
  8. If it is a mid that will be perfect in my truck as it has 4.11 gears and i didnt plan to change them anytime soon. I will get the info/picture for you soon.
  9. Ive heard there's closed and open ratios and the open is more sought after but i might have it backwards
  10. I believe thats what the determination was. I will snap a pic tomorrow for you mike. Iv anyone could identify it better im sure its you. My buddy bought it from a friend that said it was a zx trans. He put it in his 620 and said it felt no different than his 5spd he had. I believe it only had reverse light on it.
  11. It had a 280zx shifter when my friend got it. It is a z car transmission but unsure of what it is from and from what I've heard its not a open ratio trans its a closed ratio. What would you like a picture of exactly? Passanger driver side?
  12. Basically yes. Ive never delt with efi but i assume it works the same as a car stereo one wire for power when the key is on and another for all time power. Also its 1 or 2 plugs and i can pull it out. I also have the kick down solenoid that i was going to wire to a push button as well instead of the toggle switch for ecu. But id like to keep the harness and efi harness seperate just for ease of mind.
  13. So I finally tore the motor apart. I didnt blow the Head gasket :crying: looking like I spun a rod bearing still need to disconnect the rods and inspect. I Currently started a new job and had to place the project on hold because I cant afford the Part. I am convinced I shut it off early enough that I wont need to get the crank machined at all fingers crossed atleast. Hopeful I can order standard sized rod bearings. If I need machine work done at all on the crank I will take the head and block in for some work as well. Head job deck the block hone the cylinders and order some KA truck pistons. the motor is a z24i Still so the hone should be good enough for the standard sized 89mm pistons and rings. Still need to get my Slave, master, hardlines, bearing, and tranny mount so I can swap the bellhousing and put my 280zx Closed ratio transmission in. If all goes well I will only need the rod bearings to start putting the motor back together I hope. depending on how well my rebuild goes my next project will be Fuel injection using the 81-83 200SX Napz fuel injection intake with KA24E throttle body, injectors, and ECU. I held onto the z24i distributor and Oil pump shaft for the CAS. as for the wiring I have a friend whos done this before on his 720. Once I get my hands on the intake he said he will gather up a little care package to help me get my fuel injection going and be willing to help me out with the wiring harness. I would like to keep it separate from my wiring harness and am most likely going to wire the power for ecu to a toggle switch. but we will see what happens.
  14. Whats everyone using for clutch hardlines? I dont have a stock setup so Im contemplating using steel braided lines.
  15. So started to work more on the 5spd swap. Tore the donor napz 5spd fsb short tail out of a 4x4 720. Bellhousing is off need to pull the bearings and get new ones then get ready to swap it onto the 280z 5spd i have with the new/bigger bearings if they arnt the same size. Still have to check on that.
