+1... the kurnled preload ring is a carrera thing.

i managed to get everything worked out, sold a couple other projects so the 510 gets to stay....... but i really need the shop space, so i got no choice but to hurry up and get it done...or atleast drivable. still need to finish..actually start on the LZ motor, and assemble the suspension...body and paint can wait.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm, i wonder if they will throw some cones out at about the 2 mile mark to make it interesting.

as much as i wanna keep the 510...i think it needs to find a home.... i stumbled into something i have been wanting for a loooooooooooong time, and well i dont have the space or the cash flow for it. almost all my "other" personal projects are in the same boat, so atleast the ratsun isnt the only one. if anybody on here is serious about it....send me a message. just need to get my money outa it.... about 2500 oh and the new thing....lets just say b-ville speedweek....200mph club:D

sorry... the schoolbus yellow is gone, when i got the cab 8 years ago, i had planned on leaving it as is...but over the years of looking at it, i just cant do it. it will be john deere blitz black, with some old skool lookin "race rodz" logos....then its a write off:D

there is the only "full" shot i have of it, found it on C/L for $750, drove it away.... L18/4spd, tach dash, almost no rust. great starting point.

no.... the car got back from the int shop 4 days before it needed to be loaded up and head for vegas.... the fact it was gone 5 days longer than it was supposed to be and it mysteriously got a dent in the roof, scratches all over the qtrs, and glue everywhere.... not to mention it still had several days worth of assembly. we made the call that it would be pointless to thrash and make it semi presentable... too much to do and not enough time. so after having worked 14-20 hour days for 45+ days, i took a couple weeks off, and didnt even go to vegas. this last year i cancelled my sema plans to get the blue camaro done, but this year...08, the camaro, the cuda, and possibly one other "race-rodz" vehicle will be there...as will i.

what else ya wanna see? how about my 40 ford shop truck project.... still in the garage at home... waiting for the spot the 510 is in at the shop. customers 70 'cuda, TT 6.1 hemi, mini tubs, air ride, 19's/20's... pic is a mock up 20 at layed out height. customer 52 chevy prostreet, BBC/4spd... full chassis build, int tinwork, rust repair. how bout a couple finished projects... 68 camaro, body/paint...custom 3pc flushmount spoiler w/ LED 3rd brake light 57 chevy prostreet, complete build, 8:71 BBC w/ FAST EFI, full air ride, the 1st set of 18/20" MT HR1's, car was scheduled to be @ sema 06, didnt make it due to int shop issues. i think thats enough non datsun pics, but it should give everybody an idea of what i do, and the 510 being a streetfighter will in no way be anywhere near as streetrod styled as most of my projects, it will be streetlegal racecar-ish

wheels showed up earlier this week, so today was a lil more mock up....plus i wanted to make sure the rear mounted caliper on my big brakes would clear everything. the tire is too big 215/45/17, but its all i had layin around. the plan calls for 205/40/17 hoosier R6's.... and yes...those will be my street tires:D gonna need to do a lil reworking in the area above the tire, and front tubs will be needed. basically all the unibody strut towers will be goin in the scrap bin, and round tube/tin will dominate the space... this will mount the top of the struts, and be tied into the cage.

i see the reasoning for the .500 thickness. regardless i want a .375 flange, and i will gladly supply 304SS material for mine... i am 99% sure i wanna do my whole system outa stainless, since nobody local is doin the HPC style coating anymore.

i think .375 is more than overkill, .5 will cause some welding headaches when trying to weld exhaust tube to it.

the wrenches will be back.... maybe tonite if there is nuttin on tv.

well kinda.... i was bored tonite. i need a design for my center caps, wanted somethin a lil more sinister than the "official" logo. feel free to add to it...make this a community project.

for the rear, i also converted to 5 lug via redrilling the stubs. Z31 rear rotors, and Z31 calipers, im working on some tube arms, so i dont have any caliper mount done yet.
