  1. Just gonna pop in here and say, this truck is in immaculate condition. Could use some tlc, and less flames, in my opinion, but immaculate nonetheless. Good luck with the sale! Ill see you at blue lake
  2. Ooh, gotcha. Sorry I couldn't help Okay, sounds good. I'll pump it up and make sure it holds air, and ill drag it along. Ill probably be there all day
  3. Nice looking truck! Good luck with smog, though. Is there a special way you could register it to get around smog? Like maybe a custom build title or classic restored or something? I'm not familiar with cali smog stuff, so I'm just shooting in the dark
  4. welcome to the forums, and good luck with your truck! 800 for that truck is such a good deal! Wish mine was anywhere near that condition
  5. its close to a bolt up, but needs a little fabrication to fit in the bay. See this thread : http://datsunminitruckin.com/sr20det-into-a-datsun-620_topic1632.html
  6. I say go for it, like cpl620 said go for the 13b, though. A rotary 620 would be sick
  7. I'm not from puyallup, but Ill be at the meet, and can bring a spare wheel/tire I've got lying around, not sure how much help one wheel would be to you, but its yours if you need it
  8. Hey everyone, Wanted to properly introduce myself. I've been lurking a bit and posted in a couple spots, but haven't intro'd myself to the 620 people yet, so here I am. This is my first datsun, always liked datsuns, and now I've finally found one of my own. Ill be mostly around the portland area, and I have some big plans for this girl. Here are some pictures of the truck. (last three are from the craigslist ad) Sorry about the size, mobile users, I think i'll have to adjust the size for future pictures
  9. Ill be coming from the beaverton area weekly car meet? is there anywhere I can get some more info on this?
  10. I'd be down to meet in vanc beforehand
  11. Yeah, I'm in the electronics industry by trade (audio equipment manufacturing) So completely re-doing the wiring harness wouldn't be too bad, but this truck was too rusted for me. Also I want something I can drive now, and I don't think I'd feel safe in this one on my daily commute. I'm looking into a 620 here in a couple days that should be in better condition.
  12. So i went to check out the truck after work today... I think the ad should have said there were a couple good spots in the bed, instead of a couple rust spots in the bed. The entire bed was rusted out. :( Also both floorboards were rusted, and halfassedly repaired. Leaked oil, hacked wires, 'custom' fuse box, random bits of wire going to things in the engine.. The damage wasn't too bad, someone had backed into it in a parking lot. Looks like I could have pulled most of it out, no creases, ect.. All in all, this truck was unfortunately neglected for too many years. so the search continues..
  13. Link? I couldn't find it in a quick search on CL. Though I work 7 days a week.. Might be hard to get up there to look at it Okay, good info about the noisier engine due to clearance and chains. Ill make sure I check it over for rust pretty good. We're lucky they don't salt the roads here
  14. Good advice, thanks! I had no idea these trucks were drums all the way around. Probably gonna squeak like crazy, I know my bike does. Ill make a little mental checklist of these things, and look for them when I look at it later. I was thinking of offering 1000 because of the holes in the bed, and the dents in the front. I think he said theres a small oil leak, so I'll need to check that out. Yeah, I saw that too.. Hopefully it wasn't too bad of a collision, and I can either pull the fender back out or replace it without too much trouble.. If part of the subframe was bent, or the rad support was messed up, should I walk away? I think my plan is to let it sit and rot in a field somewhere... I kid! I kid! I hadn't really thought about it too much. Probably drive it intermittently with my other truck and work on getting it as close to stock as possible. Somewhere in the future, I'll probably buy a new motor and take my time rebuilding it with a little more pep. I know I definitely want to get a 5 speed in there relatively soon, though.. I heard that the four speeds aren't too fun on the freeways.
