  1. 2/77 for door plate and 199503 on the fram which mathced with the plate.
  2. so i checked with wayno on my datsun and frame and cab numbers match so its a 77 frame, 77 cab registered as a 77 datsun but has ball joints and disc.....
  3. Hopefully i can get it done in one day because it's my daily. Got to be able to drive to work. I'll look more into it and go from there.
  4. My skill set is zero and experience is none. I want to learn so bad though and have all the passion to do so. honestly all the experience i have is like spark plugs, oil changes and just like real basic stuff. Only thing i've done so far is replace master cylinder.
  5. its 77' but i have disc in front. so maybe P.O did a swap. anyways got paid so im gonna start ordering parts. also looks like my alternator needs to be replace because i have brand new battery and my chg light is blinking nice and bright so i tested it and been told by several different answers. Maybe i have low output
  6. Okay so i have a 77 620 and i was quoted $1050 to have my tie rod ends, inner and outer tie rod assembly, ball joints lower and upper on both sides, center link and tie rod adjusting sleeve done. I think that's too much money so i'm gonna do it myself. So would there be anything else you guys/gals can think of that ill need or i should do since im already down there. I haven't ordered anything yet i get paid Friday. I have a 78 front end i think because i was told 77 doesn't have ball joints but mine does and the manufactured plate says 2/77. Thanks for the help and any advice is appreciated.
  7. Alright so i'm upgrading from points to a Petronix ignition kit. So I'm pretty sure I can figure out how to install and I got a timing gun. Also from what I researched the firing order is 1, 3, 4, 2. Or at least that's order of spark plug wires on distributor. The cylinders are ordered 1, 2, 3, 4 straight across. I don't know what to set the timing at for each plug or how to adjust. This will be my first time doing this and using a timing gun. I have a L20B by the way also near the belt i see this... well idk what it is but at the end its got little teeth and i see numbers on it that say 20 10 10 in that order. What does that mean? Sorry for the scrambled and numerous questions. I can post pictures tomorrow of exactly what I'm seeing. Thanks
  8. Alright just to confirm what i said early about firing order. is that all correct? Also cant find a video on the Pertronix 1741 kit install. I see tons of other videos on different part numbers. I wish i could post pics but my phone isn't letting me transfer them.....
  9. Damn a toolbox for a sweet datsun. Great deal!!
  10. I went but i couldn't get there till 3pm and I saw a 67 mustang and that was it. I missed out......

  12. So brakes were locked up because brake rod was not adjusted when brake master cylinder was installed and the brake adjusters seized. Some brake cleaner and adjusting and so far so good.
  13. yes very sluggish and it did feel like i was driving with breaks applied and it smelled horrible. I cant check anything yet because i left the truck at my work Les Schwab. I didn't tow either just drove in second and first for about a mile.
  14. I don't have a cat. Ill check into the clutch
