  1. Looking good! I'll be in touch with you about some stuff once I actually start working on my first gen...it's just sitting in my driveway now.
  2. Listen to this^^^ I had an 85 Jeep Cherokee with this engine. My engine was in great running condition, but I took it out because the jeep was SO slow. I ended up installing a 3.4 V6 Camaro engine (also a 60* V6), bolts in the same as the 2.8 but has about 50 more hp. So if you do decide to do a Chevy 60* V6 swap I would choose a different engine than the 2.8. Most people either do what I did with the 3.4 or if you want to make a bunch more power and are willing to do more work use a more modern 3.4, 3.5 or 3.9 engine. 60degreev6.com is a really good site if you do decide to go though with it.
  3. Thanks man, yeah I figured it out. I switched to Chrome and it works fine now.
  4. I finally got my wheel studs and I installed them yesterday. I also realized I already have some 10mm spacers that I had on another vehicle years ago and they are drilled for the 4x114.3 pattern too, so I am going to see how they work before I get anything else.
  5. realized I have not updated this in a while. I have wheels on my car now but I am waiting for extended studs so I can space out the front a little bit. Here are a few pics: Before need to roll the fenders in the rear I don't like that I had to take my chrome fender trim off in the rear, but I don't think I can run it with out mounting it a different way so the tires will not hit it. My front studs are supposed to be delivered today. The fronts clear the struts but only by a very tiny bit, so I want to run a small spacer to make sure the tires will not hit the strut if the tire compresses a little bit.
  6. Looks good! Where were you able to find a center console? I cannot find one anywhere.
  7. yeah, I agree with the look aspect too. I am still waiting on my studs to ship, I followed up today with the company and they said the studs should ship today. I'll update the thread once I get the stuff on.
  8. So I finally had time to put my wheels on. They do fit but they required some work. In the front the tires clear the strut by a very few mm's, but I am afraid that when the tire flexes it will rub the strut so I am going to put a 10mm spacer on the front. I went ahead and ordered the 50mm wheel studs that I posted earlier in post 13. As for the rear I had plenty of room inward but I realized that I needed to roll the fenders, so I had to remove the chrome fender arch garnish. Here are a few pictures, I am not going to drive it until I have added the spacers in the front. Before Rolling the rear fenders
  9. Where were you rubbing in the rear. I will also be running a 15 but mine are 8" wide in the rear with a similar offset. I am hoping you were just rubbing up in the fender arches from the suspension being compressed....also I am not familiar enough with the differences in the wagon and sedan to know if they require the same wheel/tire specs
  10. Okay that gives me hope for mine. My wheels are wider than yours but also a higher offset. How close are your tires to rubbing your struts front and rear?
  11. you said it  Can you post your wheel and tire specs again? Has your suspension compressed enough to see if your sidewalls are going to rub the fender lips?
  12. I was googling something and I hit on my own thread and realized I had not updated it in a while. I figured out why my temp gauge was not coming up to the middle of the gauge...I was not getting much of any heat from the car so I replaced the thermostat. Now I have heat and the gauge comes almost up to the middle when up to operating temp. My horn still does not work, but when I push the horn button I hear a faint clicking in the passenger side area. Does anyone know where the horn relay is located?
  13. I'm down. When do you plan on making them? I'll just need a little notice because the z is still on my car trailer, and I am not exactly sure when I am going to pull the rear end out. Can the proper mount be purchased new? Or maybe I'll try to get one off of a part out car...do you know what year cars use the mount that will work for us?
  14. Please take some pics when you fit this to your car. I picked up a whole 82 zxt and will be taking the diff out of it as well to put in my maxima.
