cleaned out the interior part of the tranny housing a little and installed the new throwout bearing. I'm waiting on a day where I can get some buddy over to help me get the engine and tranny over to the car and mate the two together. I also am waiting on a new prop valve before installing the new brake lines.

Did a little tranny cleaning here's before.

here's two hours, three spray bottles of green clean, 2 brass brushes, a pressure washer, and a whole lot of elbow grease later. I've decided on trying to use as little brake cleaner as possible after I started searching up what that shit does and what that shit can turn into if you heat it up. Be careful out there people don't go spraying that shit willy nilly, brake cleaner kills.

Also took off the rear quarter windows and discovered more rust that needs to be dealt with:

Got the fenders off and cleaned the wiring in the bay. Used an old plastic ruler to scrape off the sealer on the fender.

it's kinda risky to have it not burn through.

That's really what I was trying to avoid more than anything.

wow... it's interesting seeing how rust develops in these cars. Seems like the seals and big safety bumpers are the reason why most of it occurs. Been real lucky with the floors on mine.

Thanks

Did not have fun putting the front dash/cluster/heater core back together, but I can safely say that I know it inside out and backwards now. Dash panel finally cracked, but was expecting that to happen eventually. Not a bad crack so I can fix it too. Looked into Eastwood's dash stuff.

Cracked at least 5 different screw holes in different spots, "fixed" them with an electrical soldering pen like I know Atomic has. Didn't matter how gentle I was some still cracked. What can you expect from 40 year old plastic? it really got me thinking about one day having all of these parts rendered and remade through a 3d printer using better plastic.

So I finally started modifying the rear fenders again and cut open the original panel and just bended it out a bit and made a little extension to make the ''booty'' larger as seen in the pictures. Turned out pretty okay and suits the lines of the cars imo. Also got the Argon bottle from Poland, time to continue the Aluminium welding at weekend, looking forward to that. Also going to try machining the injector pockets for the intake manifold at work, we will see how that turns out as well.

Will definitely be doing something like this with my build further down the line. I agree with you these cars have a great booty but they need a little more cushion for the pushin'  :P
