Also took off the rear quarter windows and discovered more rust that needs to be dealt with:

Got the fenders off and cleaned the wiring in the bay. Used an old plastic ruler to scrape off the sealer on the fender.

it's kinda risky to have it not burn through.

That's really what I was trying to avoid more than anything.

wow... it's interesting seeing how rust develops in these cars. Seems like the seals and big safety bumpers are the reason why most of it occurs. Been real lucky with the floors on mine.

Posted with links so not robbing space from your post

Thanks

Did not have fun putting the front dash/cluster/heater core back together, but I can safely say that I know it inside out and backwards now. Dash panel finally cracked, but was expecting that to happen eventually. Not a bad crack so I can fix it too. Looked into Eastwood's dash stuff.

Cracked at least 5 different screw holes in different spots, "fixed" them with an electrical soldering pen like I know Atomic has. Didn't matter how gentle I was some still cracked. What can you expect from 40 year old plastic? it really got me thinking about one day having all of these parts rendered and remade through a 3d printer using better plastic.

So I finally started modifying the rear fenders again and cut open the original panel and just bended it out a bit and made a little extension to make the ''booty'' larger as seen in the pictures. Turned out pretty okay and suits the lines of the cars imo. Also got the Argon bottle from Poland, time to continue the Aluminium welding at weekend, looking forward to that. Also going to try machining the injector pockets for the intake manifold at work, we will see how that turns out as well.

It was so nice to have her outside so I could have a full view of it, looks

Will definitely be doing something like this with my build further down the line. I agree with you these cars have a great booty but they need a little more cushion for the pushin'  :P

Give some heat for the nuts/bolts with heat gun or torch and get longer lever arm to bust them open. Glad to see another B310/210 on the forum!

I'll give it a shot. Love your build too, can't wait til I have a garage where I can weld like you are.

Suggestions on cleaning/painting of rad without damaging?

Really can't wait til the rad support can be addressed. Looks like I'll be able to keep enough of the front valence that it wont need too much chopping but I don't know, only hoping.

Wow...

I really love these scans. The font, early turn of the decade minimalist aesthetic, the photos are all great.

I got to get me a one from 79 and do the same as you.

Nice work

Not sure what you are doing wrong.

Click you picture link, then click the picture to make full screen, right click, copy image address.

I feel like its something simple but I don't know where I can do anything differently. I'm using firefox off a mac. Maybe try chrome?

Anyway on to the fun stuff.

So far I have gotten the front right and left strut assemblies, tie rods, sway bar, links, and right control arm off of the car. The left one is being a piece of shit.

FkbAPudVY4ghj8RhIjSsG09ez8PZ1ATXmLy6jdXd

The next step is to get the rear axle and suspension out so that both front and rear suspension can get sandblasted and powder coated at the same time. After that it's reassembly time.

So far I have ordered all new rotors, calipers, brake lines, strut inserts with boots, bushings and bearings, center link, tie rods, idler arm. One of the tie rods (I think left) and the idler arm are the only pieces of the new steering parts that aren't 555, I will order those again and make sure I get 'Made in Japan' parts as I don't want to have any uneven drive. I'll just keep the ones I have in case of emergency.

It's like Christmas but better :)

Alright well I got to run for the time being, I'll try and figure out how to make images show up properly in the mean time. I'll try and post more pictures by next week.

add -temp.jpg to the end of picture and it will embed.

Having a little bit of trouble with that right now. Do you mean at the end of the copy/paste URL or what?

Do you mean the actual file name in the host album?
