    Post Your 521.

    5 yr...er...10yr project here.
  2. I imagine there are. I have it listed on CL. Was told by the PO it was, so I listed it as a 5 spd. Fixed it now. If somebody comes along that needs it, I'll give it to them. Otherwise I might junk the gears and make some art out of the case.
  3. Well damn, thanks guy. I'll junk it then

Pulled this out of my 521 project. I believe it is a 5 speed, just want to confirm make/model/gears before I sell it. Markings on the passenger side...
  5. Yikes, over 2 months and very slow progress. Finally figured out what I want to do with the truck. Build an AutoX/Pike's Peak daily driver. In the last few days I've dropped the transmission (PITA), pulled the starer/alternator and weber carb. Motor still sits in the engine bay, awaiting my lazy buddy to return my pop's engine hoist so I can pull it. Then up for sale it goes. Also pulled the hood back off, along with the front fenders. Wiring is all out out of the front end, will reuse pretty much only the headlight wiring. It's set up for only 1 pair of headlights, so non-sealed headlights will be going on, and something else will cover up the inner two, non-existent high beams. Still deciding on what motor, I'll have a long time to decide on that one though. My goal is to pretty much strip it down as much as possible, pending on the sale of my Grandmothers house, which then it will have to be relocated to my Uncle's place. Then more tear-down. Picture time:
  6. They are adding those things along the 125-N in socal. FFFUUUU
  7. Yeah, I've seen 'em on ebay. I'll toss them out then. I'll probably keep the fronts, I can use those after I fix the core support.
  8. These lights came with the 72 521 I bought a few months ago. I believe the turn signal assemblies will fit on the front, however the rear tail light assemblies are smaller than what is on the truck now. Can anybody identify what model datsun they go on?
  9. I'm not spraying paint, well maybe some primer. Dumb bitch started complaining because I sprayed some primer... then she told me to "not do what I am thinking. I know what you're thinking, and you better not do what you're thinking" Then she started bitching me out because I was spraying some paint stripper onto the top of my cab. The shit comes out in a liquid foam like texture! How are her kids getting sick from that shit? they are 50 feet away!
  10. Yeah next time I will. Just grabbed it because I was in a buying mode, not thinking mode. I'll resume sanding tomorrow, have more chipping/cracking bondo I need to sand down and fix.
  11. It's just a 7" rotary sander from HF. No vacuum hookup (I wish). I won't be painting it in my driveway, just sanding down the old paint so I can body work it and then send it off for paint. Considering there is a house behind hers that just had all the concrete ripped up, I doubt the dust from me is causing any harm. I'll sand down so much, then vacuum up the dust and then proceed again.
  12. She came over and started ranting on "you can't be doing that here... its not the place..." Then tells me her baby has been congested since I've started sanding the truck... I had sanded it for 15 minutes. I'm going to park it on the other side of the driveway, away from her house and continue sanding. If she bitches, I'll give her the finger.
  13. My brother has called Welfare/section 8. Told the manager of the property upfront what's going on a few weeks ago and nothing. I'll continue to work on it friday. If she says something, I'll call her out. Thanks for all the help.
  14. No wind (well hardly any), all the dust ended up on my driveway/truck. She had the gall to walk right into the dust, then bitch me out for sanding down the paint on my truck.
  15. So I live in CA... next to a dumb broad on welfare... well I bought a sander to sand down the cracking bondo on my truck. The neighbor comes over and says I can't do it. Anybody else have this issue? I'm searching, but so far haven't seen anything saying I can't sand my truck down in the driveway. I was finished doing what I needed to do, so it wasn't a big deal ya know... what is she going to bitch about next?
