  1. I already have a turbo ride, hence the want to keep this one N/A :) If I were considering FI, I have around 4 complete SR20DET's to build from in a garage.
  2. interesting... Are there any clearance issues that would require me to use an l24 pan on an l28 in the maxima? I'm strongly considering just swapping in the l28e with some higher CR goodies and whatnot, but finding parts seems to be my weak point at the moment. I really don't want to drop an SR in it, either. I don't have time to build another at the moment.
  3. Thanks. I've done some digging on HybridZ.org as well as some other Z oriented sites. If the diesel Max crank is that rare/expensive, I'll probably just stick with getting an L28 and figuring out how tweak it to my likings. :)
  4. If I did in fact do an SR, it would be an SR20VE bored to 2.3L ;). High revving monster with ITB :D thanks for the info on the stroked setup, skib! What's a ballpark price on the crank itself? Guess I could keep it to an L28. I need to do some research on pistons and rods to determine what other options I have. I REALLY think a 3.1L i6 w/ itb's would be pretty sick! Oh, and Im NOT a dorifto, nor do I ever plan to drift. :) no offense to you drifters :D
  5. TBH, I thought it was an L28 until doing a bit more research :). The idea of the ET is nice, but I think I'm going to keep this N/A for now. I think I remember reading about some people stroking their L28's to 3.1L and making some pretty serious power? I don't really care for it to be "fast" like my SE-R, just faster than stock :D

  7. Thanks for the welcome :). The blue car in the garage is another car I'm likely to own in the future. It's my moms at present time. Anyhow, it's a 1950 Studebaker, all original with less than 65K on the odo. :). Everything works flawlessly!

  9. Hey all! Friend recommended I come here from another forum (sr20-forum.com). Background in a nutshell: I have a 400+ whp '98 SE-R as a daily/toy, and am completely infactuated with Nissan/Datsun. My other daily is a 2005 Armada SE. Anyhow, I recently picked up a 1984 Datsun Maxima wagon (910 or 810, im still not sure?), for $500 from my grandfather. It ran up until 2005 when he could no longer see well enough to drive it. It sat under a tree in the front yard until this last weekend. It needs a deep cleaning, paint, and the motor I'm sure needs to be freshened up. Gas is at least 4 years old, oil is likely the same. I didn't even attempt to start it lol! I haven't really decided whether to pull the drivetrain and swap something moe familiar (SR) or if I should keep the L series and bore/stroke/build it up and keep it N/A. Needs suspension for sure, though! Best part about the car: no cancer on the body, and only has 87K miles :D I'll post pics when I get to a computer, it'll take forever to copy links over from the iPhone. -TeK
