  1. That blue 'race car' would be something I'd snap up if shipping over to Europe wasn't crazy bucks.
  2. Easy for someone to pick up and finish 😉 engine aside, there's not much to do, a full alignment, nut/bot check, go over the electrics etc to make sure it is all safe. Maybe 50 hours of labour.
  3. Lewis, he's a good guy, known him for about 15 years now. He's been through it with that beetle, poor lad. The built L18 ran and drove, developed an oil leak and when investigating that it was noticed the sump wasn't properly cleaned after some cutting and welding that was done and a piece of scotchbrite was left in there. When the final assembly was done at a 'race engine shop' they didn't put much care into it sadly and all that shit worked its way around the bottom end. Game over.
  4. I've not updated this in a while. I got the car running and driving and then it broke and now I'm walking away. Essentially it's a rolling shell with a broken L18/W53 (sped in thread) in pieces in boxes. All the nice bolt-on parts for the engine come with it, along with the 5 speed stubby, LSD etc. I do have a spare L18 complete (run when parked) L18 block and W53 peanut head. Transportation might be tricky but that can be figured out if someone wants it. DM me if interested, no rush to sell but it is time to draw a line and move on.
  5. Not today, but last Friday I drove (kinda, on the drive in 1st and reverse) mine for the first time after just over 8 years of owning and restoring it. Still needs a lot of work but was nice to get it moving on its own and feel closer to the end goal.
  6. That rear badge could be saved.
  7. DM me your address and I'll post you one 👍
  8. Plodding along with this one when time and funds allow. It has been pushed outside so enjoy some British sun (we do get it every now and then) and a wash to get all the dirt and bodyshop dust off it. Datsport camber/toe kit installed: New wheels Fitted And finally fitted my SEV lights I've been hoarding for years And wasn't sure about this, been going around and around. Thoughts:
  9. Better condition than what mine was in! Mine also had no documents and is now fully road legal in the UK. If there's a will, there's a way. You just have to pay for the pleasure.
  10. This one: 60k good money
  11. Still needs a little bit of work, but it's very close to being driven.
  12. Just ordered one 👍
  13. From one ugly 4 door to one lovely 4 door. Just shows how some people can get it so wrong, where others so right. Simple recipe really.
  14. First hole is 115mm back from the rear of the car according to what I was given as part of the FIA papers. Oddly it's not online though.
  15. Evening Martin. I should have my car home soon so can take more detailed pictures and measurements if needed. I know I have the technical drawings somewhere too but can't seem to locate them at the moment
