  1. So looks like I need the 4 bolt thermostat housing. I can't find the part number anywhere nor can I find the actual part for sale anywhere. Anyone know where I could get one? Maybe I can custom make my own? I can't find my old one for the life of me, and I don't want a friggen housing to stop me from driving this beast :crying:
  2. I just finished building my Datsun B210 motor and I noticed a couple holes I havn't noticed before. That hole next to the thermostat is what I'm talking about. From What I've read, that's where the smog pump goes but I have never had a smog pump on this. So is it plug-able or can I leave it open like that? Its been years since this thing has been running So I have no clue how i had it set up Also, That hole to the far right, That is a thermal transistor right? Not much info on these but any input would be greatly appreciated, Thank you!
  3. Just an update. There's still a TON available in Cali. Takes about a day to get them over here. They sell them individually now for about $1.50 a piece. Thanks again guys
  4. If it works it works
  5. Finished the bottom and and top end. Before I slap the engine in the car, I had one of those oh shit moments and realized I never had cylinder head alignment dowel pins when I reassembled the block. Where can I get them? Ive searched google and nothing comes up! Are they even necessary? :poke: Engine was takin apart years ago.
  6. Im am pretty sure I don't need the orange copper one. Doing a little bit more research on the interwebs, I found out that 1967-1973 blocks and heads have an oil passage. Mine doesn't. Whoops :poke: On the other hand, The O-ring fits perfectly in the distributor hole. Thank you guys!
  7. Purple is the only way to go imo
  8. I love the purple too I'm assuming it sits under the head gasket like this correct? Sorry for the noobness Scratch all that. I found out that the earlier heads and blocks had an oil port (1967-1973). Mine doesn't Derp :poke:
  9. I am currently rebuilding my 78 Datsun B210 A14. So I ran into a pickle. I have no idea where this oil ring or this O-ring goes. I found this image But I have no clue where it goes or if it even applies to my A14 I am just double checking before I put my head gasket and head on. Thanks guys!
  10. Im setting timing on my A14. I turned my crank key away from my cam centerline just hoe ggzilla said. I spun it a couple tims and nothing lined up. Is there any way to verify that i set the cam timing corectly?
  11. I am trying to get my B running and I cannot find anywhere that sells A14 pushrods. They're the longer ones(167mm I believe), I have a 78 Datsun B210, if anyone is selling a set, I am greatly in need.
  12. I have a 1978 Datsun B210 with the A14 engine. I am reassembling the engine, but I'm missing the head studs. Where can I buy head studs for this car, or is there anyone willing to sell them to me? Thanks guys
  13. Hey guys, its been a month or 2 since I posted something. I finally got everything back to normal in my life so I am starting to work on my 78 B210. I figured I should tear everything to bone metal to restore it up as a proper car. I was working on the trunk section and realized that ever since I bought the car, my trunk lid wouldn't hold itself. It has those 2 long metal lines that attach to the hinges. I took the trunk lid off, it pushes the hinges up, but when I put the trunk lid back on, it just slams shut. Not sure what is wrong but it wont stay up. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!
  14. Sorry for not updating! So thing is my Datsun B210 was my daily driver. I left it on in the auto shop parking lot in my school. My friend's friend thought it would be funny to rev it up and be loud with it. He rev'ed it up so high (clearly over the redline zone) now my datsun isnt running right. It is running very rich and leaking about a quart of oil every week. My drieway is black now. Haha It would sometimes not start. I needed something more reliable so i bought another car. 1986 Nissan 300ZX Turbo. Runs a little rough but for $1500 i cant complain. Digital gauges, electronic suspension, A/C, Electric Everything, 3" Performance exhaust, short shifter, Performance clutch...its an awesome car!! So i parked my datsun for a while. Just got it back out and planning on starting to do stuff on it again. Ill update really soon when i start!! I am looking for a Ka engine right now, then the fun will begin.
