ahh still kinda confused as what you mean by 4x4? doesnt that mean there is drive too the front wheels also?

if its 4x4 shouldnt there be input for front cvs? could i drill an tap a speedo?

on the floor shift it almost looks like it has been bunged up

its not a 4x4 box, it is exactly the same as my sd23 column shift gearbox that i removed from the truck as it had blown, when i had both gearboxes next to each other i tried to put the column shift tail on the floor shift box but the internal gears were different( from exterior they looked the same so i thought id give it a shot) the floor shift tail has no speedo drive where the column shift speedo drive it, i have taken the car into my automotive engineering course and lifted it onto car hoist and had my tutors inspect they also are quite confused as to why there is no speedo drive.

i hear they are the same? my sd22 gearbox has no speedo drive trust me i have inspected the whole thing on a car hoist and cant find it! but have been told z series gearbox fits? i was looking at a 260z gearbox but it looks slightly longer then my sd22 one, can anbody confirm this? as it may be too large to join upto my drive shaft! thanks!!!!

no the new gearbox is from a rwd not 4wd, not sure what model or what car it came from, picked it up for 50 bucks :D :D

the column shift case that connects to the drive shaft looked like it would fit but the internals were different, i still have it tho, the original gearbox was rooted as pulled it apart was munted

Hey guys, brought this ute few months back with a blown column shift gearbox, found a gearbox that was off an sd22 and is floor shift, has been put in and drives fine, but i cant seem to find where the speedo connects? or remember where i removed it from the column shift one -_- haha, just wondering if they will have the same speedos or different? or if anybody knows where it is on the floor shift box. thanks guys
