  1. Are you referring to these? http://www.hybrid-racing.com/store/hybrid-racing-velocity-stack-and-filter.html
  2. I was thinking about printing the silhouette of the car in the side of the horn
  3. I just came up with a neat idea, tell me if you guys like it
  4. Hello Everyone. I'm back with version number 2. Please leave comments
  5. That is correct. I print the parts at 102% to account for that.
  6. Thanks for the support and knowledge. I love running ideas across people who have the same passions as you. This started out as a project while i was board and know it has grown into a decent tread. But I have had the horns on there all week and the heat has not been an issue at all. My printer is a Makerbot Replicator 2X and I design in SolidWorks. I am open to making parts for our cars. I just found out one of my coworkers can make a cast part from my printed parts. So shoot me some ideas of parts to make. Looking forward to the suggestions.
  7. my concern with this idea is that you will be pulling heated air from the header
  8. Thanks for the offer. I have a set of Mikunis off my 510. I think you might be right about the grooves, but the reason I didn't flare the horn that much was because it would create overhang and it requires supports to print that. But I will definitely flare it more if I plan to produce these of metal.
  9. Its holding pretty will. We should have decent weather this week. So I plan on taking it on a 70mph, 5 mile trip then letting the car sit in the drive way at idle for an hour and I will see how it acts.
  10. That is my concern as well. But this was just for kicks and fun but it looks like I might be on to something. I will try a couple of variations on the fins, i might try grooves instead. Ill run simulations on the different designs I come up with. I am an engineer by so I can have these made here or overseas at a decent price, so lets see where this goes :)
  11. If I can get my hands on a set to get dimension, I can make a set for almost any carbs
  12. Thanks. The fins are to control the air as it comes into the carb. I place a burning piece of paper under the car to create smoke so I was able to see what the air was doing as it entered the carbs and it was very turbulent. With the fins added to the horns, it created a better flow into the carbs increasing atomization. This means a better burn, which means more power. (no claiming great number here, so don't kill me for saying that) .
  13. LOL, I figured someone would say that. I spending all week testing here in Atlanta to see how it act. I drove the car with them just for a mile today and man it made the powerband more linear and killed the black exhaust. I checked the temps in the engine bay and they were below 100F, which is great :)
  14. Hello all. So i spent the weekend tuning my SUs and was tired of the stock air filter look. So I pulled out the laptop and I designed a custom pair of horns and printed them on my 3D printer. Let me know what you guys think of them. Thanks
