  1. Apologies for the old thread bump....another day, another question - how is the stance in this pic likely to have been achieved? what would be the size of those wheels and the profile tyres? and how much of drop all round is this? I'm looking to lower my 120y and looking for some new wheels too, but need to get a better idea of what I'm after
  2. Ok...a few more questions, I believe the CA18DE would require an engineers certificate if I went down this route, is that also true of the bigger A and E series engines? Why is it that the A series EFI conversions are less popular? is it a less cost effective method of getting EFI? I.e. because CA series engines offer more power and EFI as standard its just easier to do it all at once?
  3. Thanks ggzilla!,That gives me a little more certainty about what I'm reading and how my car fits into things
  4. Hi Guys, This is probably well trodden ground, so for that I'm sorry. I'm having some issues establishing what is and isn't viable in terms of swapping out my stock engine for more power and reliability. Part of the reason for my confusion is the differing Australian spec 120y, which I understand doesn't have any of the 610 parts found in other parts of the world - will this limit my choice of engine? One of the main things I'm looking at doing is installing an EFI engine or converting the current A12 engine to EFI, although a swap is preferable as I'd like to be running a bit more than a 1.2 in terms of power. I'm fairly new to all of this but luckily I'll have some outside help from somebody who has plenty of mechanical experience albeit with Fords etc. Any advice here would be most welcome, maybe some of you have done a similar conversion or could point me in the direction of a member who has? Cheers ChrisTwitch

    My B210

Thanks guys...It's a 1978 model, and I'll have to get back to you on the wheels. I do like them but I think they are a little big for the look I'll be going for, and the 30mm drop may not be enough, so I think I'll be after some coilovers for the front

    My B210

Hello all, I've just gone and jumped aboard the Datsun bandwagon, I've got myself a little stock B210 (120Y Here in Oz) Sorry about the filter, the girlfriend has been playing about a little bit. I'm no mechanic but, but I was looking for something road worthy that could be a little bit of a weekend project car too, something for me to learn with. I've never really liked newer shaped cars or the fact that they feel so far removed from the road when driving, if that makes sense. I used to own a Ford Fiesta Mk1 back in the UK, but never really had the time to do much to it before moving over here to Australia. My very loose plans at this stage are to, go a bit lower, well a lot lower if it can be done and eventually upgrade the running gear from the stock engine, but for now I'll be concentrating my efforts on getting it a bit lower (hopefully this will make it corner a bit sharper than a unevenly loaded wheel barrow) and a few other little bits like eradicating some surface rust bubbling underneath the paint etc. Anyway thought I'd introduce myself....I'll probably be asking a lot of questions after I've done a little bit more reading. Chris
