    82 720 4x4 CV Axles?

@DatzenMike: I probably could rebuild them, finding the parts to do so though would be a bitch and a half. Boots are a plenty, but the internals I have yet to find. @LockLeaf: seeing how this truck has close to 328k on it, I really just want to get it going in a line first before I move onto the upgrades LOL just so you can see the kind of rust bucket I am working with:

    82 720 4x4 CV Axles?

Is it just me or are front (as I am going to call them) CVs next to impossible to find? for an 82? Does anyone know of any places that may stock them? I've been sitting on this truck for a little while and it would be nice to get her on the road.
  3. Well. I hate to say this, but I Have lost interest in the car. If there are any offers on it, let me know. otherwise, I am going to pull everything out of it and scrap the body.
  4. Ok, mega update time. It's been a long time, and i lost a bunch of pics when my phone decided it wanted to be a dolphin. I would like to explain why i am now making slow progress on this project, lack of money. Why? because this... my old one was about shot. enough of Hades, back to Delta. First off, I had to redo the ENITRE motor mount AND make a custom crossmember here's another angle, this is with a mocked up steering in it. the angle will be changed eventually... Here it is sitting in its new home With the power that is planned to come out of this, we have to get it to the ground. Blazer rear end? Blazer rear end. here's another view BONUS: the car now has disk rears Here's the goober rig to get some lube in it Hydro e-brake being mocked for spacing Fuck it, hair dryer time if we do that, gotta bake sure we get spark. IIC time! Stance, naw. I dig the ass in the air look more. (also, fenders are fixed!!)
  5. Thanks Lonestar! finished the engine last night and began work on the cross member, we should have it done by later tonight. This thing is way taller than it looks forgot to mention that while i had the head off, i port and polished it. you can kinda see it here. Due to the size of the oil pan, the original steering had to go, so we pulled a manual rack out of a 93 dodge colt. Its not a direct bolt on, so we will have to modify the inner tierod ends, but this is what we have so far (still needs boots).from what I've observed, it also looks like this will give us more steering angle.
  6. Ok, so its been a while waiting for parts, BUT I have more updates Well the donor engine had 200k on it, so I decided that it should be rebuilt. this is the mess that was left over from at least 25k of leaky valve cover gaskets. so... needless to say, we used our dunk-tank and soaked the block. this is just before we painted it. and after, (built the motor mounts while we were waiting for parts to arrive.) lets go back to the chassis for a bit, that steering HAS GOT TO GO!! Might as well pull the cross member and take off those mounts. Bottom half done and Sealed up! While tearing down the engine, we found that the previous donor owner had gone through the engine at some point and replaced the pistons and crank with forged elements!
  7. OK, for this weeks update. its a big one. DRIVETRAIN IS HERE!!!!!!!! sourced at: 2001 Chevy blazer rear end (chevy 10 bolt) and wheels (temporary) 1994 Mazda Miata Engine(191k to be rebuilt), 5 speed Trans (91k), Radiator, fan, and partial wiring harness. thats it so far... old vs new at this point I only had the trans, but the positioning will put the shifter about 6 inches back, which is perfect for such a short throw And now for the go. Just a side view.
  8. Well seeing how I will be on this forum quite regularly, y'all can call me Ck.
  9. That is the single greatest line I've seen in a forum. LOL
  10. I measured up both the one in my 85 300zx and one out of a miata and they are both too long by at least 8 inches. I'm going to see what I can do to shorten them if possible at all.
  11. I may end up putting a hair dryer on it down the road, which could put me close to 300 (depending on what I have done to the internals). This is going to end up a long term project and may not see much street time for quite some time.
  12. What could I find one of those in?
  13. I am definitely going to need the best I can get, I was really considering getting a Ford 8.8 and shortening it. Any way I do this swap I have to have a custom driveshaft made, so the yoke isn't going to be a major problem.
  14. Of course, I'm thinking im going to make a table out of the block and pistons, but everything else is going to be parted out. I would hate to see useable parts go to the scrapper. That being said, anyone need anything from this motor? And if I need help with the motor swap, I will let you know. Anyone know where I could get a decent rear axle?
  15. At this point, I have found that (though it still ran) the engine was shot... The crank moves between .25 and .5 of an inch longitudinaly. I was thinking about swapping a v8 but I don't feel like building a cage to support the amount of HP I can push out of one. So, I'm just going to go with a miata engine trans.
