i dont really know what the grill is but off a violet im guessing? it was a NOS one from some guy and got it for free :thumbup: hopefully soon i can get this thing painted also but dont know what colour i want to go.. maybe a two tone is in the thoughts

okay cool im planning on getting a Fj box soon hopefully and chuck that in but for now dog leg will have to do haha, yeah i love this style too its also rare as well here with only 2 registered on the road for the whole of New Zealand

i think what im going to do is modify the transmission mounts or however like you said so that it will be tilted the right way and not effect the drive shaft. i am using the old 5 speed dog leg gear box so i think its one of the quite stronger boxes made by datsun im lead to believe. however i have read that a fj20 gear box fits correctly and everything to the z and car mounts so might head down that route as i can pick one up quite cheap? any thoughts on this?

the rims in the bottom picture are my current ones and keeping for a while until i find some new ones. they are 15x8 -0 offset fit nicely just hoping to go a bit wider

cheers, i didnt get the z transmission with the motor, ive been in the understanding that an L series gear box can bolt up which it already has just the engine tilt is a bit different and the gear box mounts don't quite fit up. i think to remedy this i might pack an engine mount with a metal block or however. thoughts?

Hey guys so been reading up on ratsun for a while now and thought i would share my build with you and start somewhere to keep my updates and track my project. so i bought this car a while ago in a bit of a state wasnt really complete but nothing to major, just had to put the remaining pieces to together and it was ready to go. the engine was running pretty rough a 1.6l twin carb etc etc so tuned it up and made it my daily which went pretty well and saw a couple of gymkhana events until i started to do some changes and make it my little work. first things was to change the set of rims on it and managed to pick up a nice little set and they suit not to bad.. still not the ones yet but will take time. currently im putting in a z18et engine in (note it is not in yet) and slowly doing my own rust look as a pre work to getting panel and painted. ill leave the pics here from what i got it at upto and including its current state and let you decide what to think will continue to update as i progress :cool: sorry for so many photos just need to update them all, last two are of its current state chur
