my uncles buddy is an ol timer mehcanic and he rewired my whole ignition system and now i have spark lol DAMN OL' TIMERS! haha

okay i tried connecting a wire to the tab on the dizzy and grounded it to the battery and still nothing.. im thinking i got a bad dizzy. well i'll take it back and get another one its the only thing i have left to try. thanks hainz for the help

sorry hainz its just frusrating becasuse ive now replaced the entire system and it still has no spark.. i have a matchbox dizzy and thats what i had on it before. i get 12v to the black and white wire and to the b side wire with the key on. and i get 12v out of the coil when the key is on but it doesnt go any higher when you crank it and it creates no spark. i have all the wires hooked up just like before when the truck ran so i know the wires arent mixed up and i even put new ends on them to see if that was it but still nothing. is there a ground somewhere im missing because thats what everyone keeps telling me ( but they dont work on datsuns). i love datsuns for their simplicty and ease but this one is really starting to irritate me lol.

So I have 12v coming out of the coil wire but no spark I have everything hooked up just like it was when the dam thing ran and still no spark!! I put a new coil and new dizzy on it now and still nothing! Oh and I replaced that fuse and still NOTHING!!!! Im so sick of the truck at this point it's not even funny

I didn't think I had one since it was electronic ignition? It looks like a little white bar with prongs on it? I have an extra one the truck came with lol but nothin on the truck like that

Sssoo I replaced the distributor and coil and I still don't get spark...FML. is there a relay or something? all my fuses are intact..

haha is all good man but yea they still have a rotor. and what spring are you talking about in the cap? like the nipple thing in the middle of the cap?

okay so that wasnt it either....ugh this fuckin truck man... i get power to the coil and distributor and the rotor spins but still no spark.

shit i put gasket sealer on the base of distributor like a retard. i bet its not grounding itself to the block haha thanks mike like always you come thorugh!!

okay so i have a 521 with a l20b in it with electronic ignition. so i blew a head gasket a while back and long story short i got it all fixed. kinda. my issue is that i dont get any spark and i didnt change anything with the distributor or coil, both are new by the way. i have everything hooked up like it was so im kind of lost i checked to see if the coil gets power and it does. all my connections are in the right spot so i was thinking maybe its a fuse or something? or is this kind of common? any input would be great guys thanks!

really? ive never heard of that well maby i wont do the rings i'll just do the head and get her up and goin again thanks as alway michael haha

it smokes but the valve seals are bad because when i bought the motor the guy said the head was rebuilt. but it was only driven for a little and then it was pulled out and sat in his garage for a year so i figuered the seals got brittle and cracked. oh and the other thing that worried me about the rings was that i cant see any crosshatching in the two cylinders i can see so that kind of worries me.

i think the headgasket cracked because when we put it in we lifted it from the head. so i think that it finally just went. and i figuered well if i went this far why not pull it out and put some new rings in it. the comp was 151 across but ive been told i need new rings. plus i want a reliable engine well datsun reliable anyhow haha

hey guys my head gasket blew and i warped the head pretty bad on my l20b. But i have a a87 that has some port and polish work done to it and i was wondering if i can run this on the l20b? because it has a u67 on it. and can i use my cam and guts off the u67 to put on the a87? because it only has the valves and springs no cam or anything thanks guys.
