  1. Holy thread mine! Finally found a photo online of this thing!
  2. Tease pic of a U320 for those who don't know what it is, I've been out of town for a couple of weeks and will be back home in a couple of days, then I'll hunt it down.
  3. While doing my route the other day I spotted a U320 in primer in a guy's front yard. Was too busy to take pics, and haven't had a chance since yet it's literally just around the corner from my house! No chance of me offering to buy it off him, I'm having enough trouble convincing SWMBO that I should buy the, running, 720 KC near her parent's place! Will try and get a pic in a couple of weeks, leaving on vacation tomorrow.
  4. That is one clean little wagon. Bit scary how small it is compared to the truck behind it though!
  5. Wait, you've got blocks and pulled a leaf from the pack? That would mean you've only got 2 leafs left right? I'd have a look at the rear suspension for possible vibrations. I know a few people who've had issues with loose blocks.
  6. Ugly? I've seen worse. It's honest looking.
  7. You can't rush perfection. Great to see the hooks are still where they should be!

Damm nice truck. The cage looks like it's been properly thought out. I love the foglights frenched into the front panel, took me a second to realise they were actually foglights. Now I REALLY need to get another 720!
  9. Very nice, love Eibach/Bilstein combo when I've installed them on VWs and Mercs in the past. I'm trying NOT to get the setup for my minivan, rather get another datto 720 and play with that.

My old 720: Found it had a tweaked chassis and possible rust in the firewall so sadly sent for scrap, lost $28 between buying it and getting rid of it.
  11. These are the Aussie versions, I've seen the 5 hole ones but they are no longer available. Iirc the, aussie, company that made the 5 hole ones got bought out by the mob that makes these ones in the 1980s. Seen a few 510s running these, some as recent at this week! Personally I'm not a fan of them generally, remember I'm a 720 guy, but they would look sweet on an ol'school 620 or earlier.

I suppose I should post up photos of my former 720. Still regret getting rid of it, more so after I found out my brother inlaw knows a guy with a chassis aligner! As for the Datsun vs Nissan debate, imho it's a non issue. I like the post '85/86 stuff as much as the early stuff, if I can't find a decent 720 for the right price I'm going D21. And since SWMBO will only allow a dual cab, a D21 is looking more likely :(
  13. You can still get these in 13x5.5: Only question is would they do a set in 6 stud, in any size? From: http://www.performancewheels.com.au Yes same people that do the wheels I was going to run on my 720.
  14. One thing about your rear suspension. Don't use lowering blocks. They cause axle windup and weird handeling. My mate's Toyota, the youtube link I posted in your other thread, had some serious issues when he ran blocks. He now runs proper lowered leaves. He's planning on running a 3 link when he goes 2JZ.
  15. Amazing build, the whole time I've been reading this I've been wondering if an S13-S15 or R32 subframe swap into a 720 is doable the same as what you've done. About the wheels, iirc MX5/Miatas run FWD offset anyway, I was chasing a set of NB 1.6 roundspokes for my baby Mazda for ages. Early Protege wheels, 4 stud, will bolt on no issues, base spec MX5s ran Protege steelies in UK and Japan.
