  1. Check the engine temperature sender sensor. Sr20de's are known for this. Saw this on a few Sr's where it does not rev up past 2.5 > 3 k rpm.

    Very nice. I like!
  3. I like , i like. Can't wait to see the finished product. Keep it up dude.
  4. I say go for it !. Will definitely put a smile on your face.
  5. @Shakotan. No major issues when mounting the Sr. Fits straight onto the standard l16 mounts on the crossmember. Tranny also uses the existing l16 crossmember. Only had to shorten the drivedhaft
  6. Hi. Since the last update. I managed to break the input shaft bearing in the tranny, replaced the bearing but now it's whinning like a supercharger . Have sourced a skyline r31 rb30 tranny on which i will use my Sr bellhousing . I hope to have this swapped out this weekend. Also made up front camber plates to get it a bit negative. Will update pics soon.

  11. Thanks for the awesome welcome & feedback Guys. Appreciated. Will defintely keep the updates coming! @ Iaotsu - Neons and the 15inch wheels were the 1st on the list to go after I purchased the car?. I've been told by the previous owner that the 4.1 is LSD, but will have to open and have a look to confirm. Loving this Forum !
  12. Hi Guys My name is Roland and I hail from Sunny South Africa. In late November 2013, My dream car came up for sale and I could not resist considering that I was looking for one for 8 years. It was a Datsun 160U P710 SSS Coupe. Went with my youngest son Rowan to view and his words were “ Dad this things looks like a UFO with Green underglow lights you wasting your time!”. He obviously could not see what I had envisioned. The car had what you may call a “Half baked Potato” conversion done by the previous owner who sort off was on the right track as he chose SR20DE VCT motor and S14 gearbox as a platform for replacing the L16. Luckily for me the motor and trans was fitted and it needed a little work to get it running properly. 2 days later my son Kurt & I got the car home and my wife was like “What are you going to do with this piece of Junk?”. I had to contain myself and bite the bullet. It was still my “Blank Canvas” and I knew that I could turn it into a work of art!. It’s not quite finished, But here are some pics as it stands today. Have a bit of work to finish on the interior and then final cut and polish of the paint. Details 1975 160U SSS coupe Original “ Burnt Orange” Bucket seats up front for now (waiting for my set of S13 seats to be recovered) S14 rear seats in the back. SR20DE VCT motor + S14 tranny. 3.9 LSD diff (have a 4.1 spare diff which came with the car) Spitronics advanced 60-2 ecu Custom headers with 57mm freeflow–(Header soon to be rebuilt with 63mm SS exhaust) 17 Rezaks with Good year sava tyres Still to do: Fit all badges and emblems after final polish Fix Tranny oil leak Rear brake disk conversion (Sonata disks with BMW E46 calipers) Custom collies for the front (must go down another 1.5 inches) Plans for the future is to perhaps boost it !. Just want to enjoy it n/a for now as it’s a hand full This is how it looks at present. The Build My Blank canvas ! Here is also a Youtube Link of me smoking some rubber after getting the car running. Not bad considering it’s only been road tuned and this was with a leaking clutch master cyclinder.
