  1. thanks, i like the body style of the 2+2 better myself. and having one more pre teen at home, i was thinking when i finished this, we would have a back seat for him with seat belts. getting tickets for having your kid buckled up sitting in his mom's lap is no fun. the last time that happened, when i still owned my 1988 300ZX SS, the trooper that wrote the ticket claimed that if he had been laying down in the rear, he wouldn't have pulled me over. does that make any sense? boy i miss that car, wish i had never let it go. :(
  2. looks like a great collection there. you have me beat actually, since two of those cars are really my son's and daughter's rigs. i claim the vert, but handed the title over to her when she married. and my son bought his SE R, so i have no claim to that other than paying insurance.
  3. this is my daughter's 1993 300ZX convertable. she is no longer running these wheels that are pictured with it. we still have them, but they started flaking chrome, and she wanted to go back to her original rims. her hubby, who purchased her first z, back when they were dating, has some really nice wheels on his 1990 five speed 300XZ na. and i figure my daughter will talk him out of those wheels before it is over with, to put on her vert. she has replaced several injectors, and also installed a rebuilt heavy duty auto tranny. this car has been repainted to look like new. she had a new top installed, along with all new gaskets around the top, and windows. and the leather seats were redone also. we have an agreement that this one comes back here if she ever buys a new z. in the background is our old 1992 Sentra SE with over 400,000 miles on it. that car was totaled and my son who was driving it, now has a 2002 Sentra SE R that i found out in GA. picture of that one to follow next if there is interest.
  4. well the post is still here, so i guess we are good. somebody needs to buy this truck!!!!!!! anyone live close enough to go check it out????????
  5. my bad, saw the no auctions rule, after making the post. silly newbie, sorry all. but since i am new, and this wasn't mine, maybe i got away with it. it sure is purty, and i still want to get it, but that got axed first thing this morning. :(
  6. wow, a beautiful 1963 L320 truck is listed on EBay and has me drooling something awfull. does anyone know this seller, and have any clue as to the condition of the vehicle? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-L320-Pickup-Truck-Survivor_W0QQitemZ270507998320QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item3efb887c70 that link might not work, but item number will get you there. 270507998320 if the driveway was a tad longer, the wife,a little more forgiving, and the banker willing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :( sure would love to have it in the garage, but then the wife's Maxima would be sitting outside. no way i am going there. sure hope it goes to a Datsun fan, who will take care of it.
  7. my 1974 260 2+2 was purchased from a gentleman that claimed to be the second owner. he purchased the two year old car at the time, from a Nissan / Datsun dealer. and the car had been titled originally to the dealership owner's son. the car was driven for about ten years, and this part seems to be true according to the last inspection sticker still on the windshield. he was involved in a wreck on ice, sliding into the rear of someone, and then having another car hit the z from behind. the man had brand new bumpers, for front and back, still in the Nissan package, and he claimed that the clutch had started slipping, so he parked it in the garage and never fixed it. i also had frame rail damage, and this i didn't know about, but the car has been fixed, and now tracks straight and true. i have had the engine torn down and rebuilt, along with the head, five speed tranny swap, round top S U carb swap with K & N filters, all suspension was dropped, cleaned up and repainted, with new poly bushings, new Tokico struts and lowering springs, a Holley electric fuel pump was installed to replace the manual pump at the engine, new headlight harness relay kit added, and the toyota four piston calliper swap with 300ZX vented rotors on front, and 280ZX disc brakes and rotors at the rear, all with stainless steel brake lines. one day i plan to add a c back to the car, with a Vintage Air unit, where the car could be driven more. i still have to pull the dash, and fix some major cracks that have opened up, also have a tach that needs to be fixed yet, and the car needs new carpet, seat covers, and paint and gaskets for the doors, hatch, and windshield to be complete. the roadster took that money, and the wife gave me much grief for not finishing the z. but i still get it out, and drive it as is, and enjoy it. and one day, it will be finished. this picture, shows the old wheels that were on the car. after buying Pannasports for the roadster, i took the old wheels and tires that came on it, at purchase, and put them on the z.
  8. clean the gas tank out and flush the lines. and i would get the brakes working first, because you might be tempted to drive it, if you get it running. and i would get the car up on jack stands, and inspect the frame rails for rust, before sinking alot of money into the car. the best mod for the money that i did to mine, was replacing the old worn out distributor, for a new one with electronic ignition. it made a huge difference on the performance, from idle to redline. parts for these don't come cheap. but the joy of owning and getting to drive one makes it all worthwhile. i never get mine out, without someone wanting to look it over. and the thumbs up from folks while your cruising down the hiway always makes me smile, and nod back. good luck with it, and 311.org is the best site for help. very sharp and friendly folks will be glad to help.
  9. just found out from an administrator that newbies have to make 10 posts before they are allowed to post pictures. you wouldn't believe how hard i worked trying to get some up. finally gave up, thinking dumb a me didn't know how, only to find out i couldn't. will follow up with pics of my 74 260Z and roadster, for sure when allowed. then get around to the rest of the cars later.
  10. someone gave you a roadster and you are worried about being uncomfortable?????????????? i would be driving the crap out of that and smileing all along the way. lots of headroom even with the top up. your only problem might be getting in under the steering wheel. a smaller wheel fixes that. spend three or four hundred on a nice steering wheel and enjoy the ride. i am a little short fat guy, so if you decide to get rid of it, call me first. i know that i can get in it with no problems.
  11. knowing what i know now, there is no way that i would ever buy another car, without first looking it over, and driving it before making a purchase. the first 79 280zx i owned way back in the day, was bought over the phone, from a new car dealer, and it turned out to be as nice as described. a one year old trade in for a new car. i was still single then, and money at the time while still living at home, wasn't an issue like it is now. then later in life, i purchased my next z car thru Auto Trader, from a guy in CA, flew out one way, drove the car, handed him a check, and drove it back to Arkansas. it was not exactly as desribed, but not so bad that i wanted my money back, and that was in the deal made up front. i could have pressed him for a small refund, which was also in the deal, but i didn't want to sever a relationship over three hundred dollars, incase i needed him out on the road later. that car was a 1988 300ZX SS, and i regret to this day selling it, but other things at the time were more important in life, and the SS is now in Massachusetts after selling it myself on EBay. and that sell allowed me to purchase the wife a nice used 2000 Maxima SE, which she still drives today and loves the car, and most important, knows that she still comes first over a car and maybe that is why she still puts up with me almost 28 years later. after returning home with the SS and telling my daughter that car was too fast, too rare, to hand over to a girl in her teens, we got busy and found a second z. this one was from a guy living in Dallas, fixing to marry, and i happened to meet his mother in our home town who put me onto the car. that one was a deal, and a quick flight down to Dallas, and back the same day, and my daughter and wife were no longer mad at me for keeping the first one. and my daughter sold it to her boyfriend at the time, now hubby, after finding a local 93 300ZX vert which she drives today. and her hubby still has the 90. my older son, wrecked his 1990 Sentra, a couple of years ago, and we decided on a 2001 Sentra SE R that i found on Auto Trader in GA, from a car dealership. that car was not quite as nice as i hoped, but again, i drove it back after flying out for my son to pick it up. they didn't bother to tell me about all the rock pecks in the hood, and it was really bad. but we had that resprayed, and it looks great now. and finally i am down to the 69 Datsun 2000 last purchased on EBay. i have already filled you all in on that one. the car looks great from all the pictures, but i never pushed the seller for closeups like i should have, and he kept making excuses for not having pictures of the undercarraige. i learned a very expensive lesson there, and tell all this to help someone else not make the same mistakes i did. look before you buy!!!!!!! if you guys and girls knew how bad i rambled on and on, making a post, you might have banned me from ever getting on here eh?:D i promise not to bore you so much if you don't run me off.
  12. there are a few listed on http://www.311s.org/ one being Dbrick's very nice 1969 2000. you can drive it home. and another one listed for alot less which would need everything rebuilt, including engine, and interior. you get what you pay for, and as everyone said, buy the best you can start with. i passed on a deal for one that i should have purchased, but the wife nixed after finding out how much it was. spent about six thousand less on what i own, and now have more in it, than what i could have bought the first one for that i really wanted. and sad to say, mine isn't near as nice as what i passed on. everytime she says something now, about more money for parts or mechanic work, i just throw that first one up to her and really get her stirred up.
  13. the car is beautifull. love the pictures, especially ones taken at night time. great work.
  14. they have been good for us. and we have a great Nissan dealer here in Harrison, AR, which is Wood Motor Company.
  15. Ed, thanks for taking up the slack. i spent a few minutes trying to post yesterday, and never could get them to show in the preview post so i gave up. we need to get a drive together soon, before the weather gets nasty.
