  1. syncos will not help shifting with out a clutch, even when new, they are only there to slow down the gearset when not being powered. under power they should grind like a bitch.
  2. transmission should still grind trying to shift it with no clutch..
  3. well wound up settling on a 93 d21 se king cab 4x4 v6 . need s a fuel tank and sender. 750.00
  4. Ohh I've done it too. but these yards are very strict
  5. Might have a lead on one for the same price, but its much farther away. blown headgasket 127k on the dash.
  6. coils are a waste , because the ignition is only gonna use the amount of spark it needs, these trucks stock are not even using the full capability of the stock coil to begin with, and all of msd's crap had turned to junk nowadays anyway. aftermarket coils are a waste of money . the only time upgradeing your coil is good is going from a oil oil filled type coil to a newer style dry coil, they do help, but if you have that already , they you gain nothing.
  7. do this AFTER you start the engine and fill up the oil filter.
  8. This guy is smoking something good. its nice, but not 2500 nice. http://richmond.craigslist.org/cto/4232821228.html

  10. yea the belt driven fan runs all the time, true, i was speaking of factory electric fans, I have also had fan clutches go out on me and not cool at low speeds and overheat the engine, anything mechanical is prone to failure. Electric is the way to go and adapting a factory unit is the way to go, car companies pay millions of dollars for engineering you might as well take advantage of it, I do not care for any aftermarket fans though, they are usually pretty cheap and don't have nearly the cooling power.
  11. yea it need a rad support something bad, but all the ones I find online are out of stock, guess no one makes em anymore so I'll have to cut one out of the parts trucks in the yard,,i would rather do a complete cab swap, but they don't sell complete cabs due to the vin deal.
  12. Stock factory fans shouldn't ever run all the time, they have a temp sender that tells the ecm when to turn on and off and newer ones have the ecm send a command for higher or lower speed also depending on the conditions, hot day running the A/c wide open on a hot day, might need full fan speed, other times , cool 40 degree day, no a/c steady speed the fan will only turn on low for a few min if needed. either way no factory fan should have to run full time.
  13. Yea just wanted to see if anyone aftermarket made new ones..
  14. funny you say that the one about 20 miles away has an 84 and a 85, haven't seen em yet to see whats left, but the other two closer to me don't have anything for the 720's just the newer hardbodies. forgot to add I'm a mechanic going on 25 years, and I did 8 years as an aircraft structures mechanic on F-14's ,f-18 e/fs and H-3's in the Navy and I've worked at several restoration shops so I can get her straight, I was really just concerned if it was really worth my time mostly. Any ideas on where I might find some new cab mount rubbers? someone installed a body lift on this and I'd like to take it back down the stock and install new runners after I get the floors patched up
  15. well like I said, it didn't have any knocks or rattles like it was low on pressure, I'll double check it when I go back over to see it
