  1. Who is asleep at the wheel approving FB posts on the Ratsun group? There are several members waiting.

The 71c is what I have for the truck out of a 1993 s40sx. Motor is the s13 out of the same car.

Drive shaft is getting changed to a one peice unit and the build will eventually see boost. A 71c sounds like the ticket.

I could also run a 280zx 5 speed with a 720 bell housing but would rather not start to cobble parts together vs. being straightforward with the 240 tranny. Open to bet practice/ease of installation suggestions.

You are right. I had to go back through old records. Same center link. With your engine mounts, I can get this installed to clear the center link once flipped? If so, I will buy a pair - please PM me. I have read all about the center link flip and since all that gear is brand new and never seen the road, it should be a clean and easy job. The transmission is a 240SX 5 speed but am open to options for ease of install/swap. Thanks man, I've been researching this for the better part of the day. Now I am excited again.

No 620 parts left on front end. It is all fabbed up by Beebani - see below. The center link is just below and forward of the motor mounts. Flipping the center link may work but I can't readily measure. I'm in WA and the truck is in CA.

Thanks. My front suspension is all modern day gear. There is nothing left stock about it. IIRC, the steering link is straight across from idler to pitman with two adjustable links (one on each end). I don't think flipping it from top to bottom or right to left would gain clearance. @J2e - I'd like to chat to learn what you have done. Thanks!

    620 KA24DE

I have searched and read, and researched across this site, Nico, KA-T, Mini-Datsun etc. The info conflicts everywhere regarding oil pans. I get the difference between the car and truck KA24DE motors and front/rear sump etc. There are 100's of guys running the s13/s14 KA24DE in the Hardbody, dimes, and 620's. I've got a very well built, brand new s14 KA24DE. The truck is '76 620 which has had a beebani makeover with control arms, coil overs, and a center steering link. The front sump on the rebuilt motor hits the steering link. The rear sump will clear. The right rear sump (per reading) would be off a '97 - 98 Frontier. When it comes to the oil pickup and the dipstick, everyone seems to have a different opinion. I need to buy the right parts for my builder. Some guys are saying the rear sump will bolt right in no problems blah blah and others say the opposite. Can someone with a similar situation confirm the part(s) needed and if there is any FAB work required. Anything is do-able, just need concrete info of what to buy and what needs fabrication or tinkering to work. It seems like a bit of work is needed as there is no "off the shelf" part that solves the problem. Am I mistaken?

The Taiwanese aftermarket pieces are cheap junk. If anyone has a rear view mirror in good to great condition, please let me know. I am set up on Venmo and Paypal. Would prefer the off white / grayish but black will also due. The truck is a 72 but they are all the same for Gen 1's 72-79. Text me at 206.617.0649 Thanks - Paul

  11. 550 lbs. each side for a 720 is plenty especially if it is 2wd. Unless you plan on stuffing a small block Buick 215 or a Ford 302 (aluminum heads) you should have plenty of weight bearing load capabillity. My truck weighs just under 3k with me in it. Your 720 is a bit heavier but still under 3500lbs I am sure. The L18 weighs in with all accessories just under 300 - around 270-80 I believe. The G54B going in with accessories will clock a little over 300 so the weight load is pretty close. Guys have had good luck with 15/16 inch bore on 4 disc - we are talking 1/16th of an inch difference. My application is full custom so I opted for the Wilwood and have good experiences with thier gear. The rear is actually a 4 link counting the lateral struts off the rear of the diff but its the same difference... The front suspension is completely aftermarket per se but is designed, engineered, and constructed by BeeBani (forum member). It is a combination of home grown, pre-fab, and well known parts from a 300ZX and other vehicles. All of the LCA work is his design and boxed into the existing frame. Pretty trick! The truck should handle and absorb the road like a modern car. Much better than kinpins and torsions which were riding on bump stops I had it so low - back jarring bumps.
  12. QA1 Coilover Springs are rated as follows: Front - 450lbs. Each side Rear - 250lbs. Each side The stock MC is not adequate for this upgrade. I bought a Wilwood 1" bore MC with a single reservoir tank. Some guys run a '79 to '81 280zx MC but the Wilwood provides better pressure for the 4 pistons up front and big 2 piston calipers in rear. If you were to run just front discs, the 280zx MC would work just fine.
  13. L18 for sale is in classifieds.... <SOLD>
  14. Thanks! Jason put alot of hard work into that upgrade. I'm ready to see the project all the way through. I am hoping to have it on the road this late spring/early summer.
  15. There are all of the pictures I took when i got her back from Oregon. The bed is back on and the next phase of the project is to get the drive train installed. Then we tweak the whole setup for the street. -P
