  1. Ok, so I've been "A-wall" from Ratsun for a few years and have a question. I'm rebuilding an L16 with a couple mild performance upgrades and I'm pretty much down to piston installation. What wrist pin retainers are best on a street engine. It's going to be in my daily driver. I know there are several kinds, spiralocks, snap rings, E clips, and teflon buttons. I was highly considering the teflon buttons, but haven't heard of anyone using them in an L Series.
  2. I have a Holley R9228 carb that was sold a a aftermarket replacement for 1978-1979 Datsun trucks, problem is the idle and main jets were missing when I opened it up to rebuild it. DOES ANYONE ON RATSUN HAVE ONE OF THESE??? I can buy the jets, but Holley doesn't have any information available for original jet sizes. I'm hoping someone here has one they could look at and tell me what's is in theirs. it's 230CFM maybe a good carb guy might have a close idea what size idle and main jets i could start with and tune from there. I really appreciate any help that anyone can offer. Possibly the same as a weber 32/36? it does say Weber inside the bowl. 20220810_120756.jpg 3.7 MB
  3. Going hood-less, gotta show off that Datsun engine and really piss off the purists. 🤣🤣🤣
  4. Body is channeled 3 inches over the frame, so the engine sits higher than normal against the firewall.
  5. Made a little more progress last night, flipped the firewall and got the necessary engine clearance for any 4 cylinder L series engine. I still gotta cut out the trans tunnel for my 4 spd.
  6. For those that are wondering, that tank on the back is a WWII, B-17 bomber oxygen tank, that was used by a soldier in the turret section of the plane. I think it's going to make a really cool 😎 fuel tank.
  7. Yes... I'm only going to run one shock on each side, the cars way to light to run both. We spent a ton of time eliminating the cage and re-designing the mounting set up. It looks simple, but it definitely was not.
  8. So now my front suspension, shock mounts, steering box, and motor mount / cross member, radiator crossmember are all welded in.
