  1. The guy fixing the links at the garage got this tape on, i didn't like it but we tried. I got updates: after it stopped the starter run well and nice. Suddenly the starter runs quiet heavy and unusuall... make sounds that i don't recognize. When thinking about it, i lost the power after that, and discovered that the fusible link melted. Been visiting our local guru and my brother trying to diagnose it now, we are suspecious on the starter. Could it get bad or something and draw to much amp? and makes the Link melt?
  2. Vel i have fixed the points and fully charged battery, i also repaired this Batterycabel because it burnt up. I was about to start, it was very weak and suddenly i lost power in the dash again, i checked under the hood and discover that my cabel burnt up again!! Why does this happend now and why not before? I also wonder why the Cableshoes intakes are diffrent as marked with Red....?
  3. Pos to coil won't work. Checked ignition and other places for corrossion, non at all. I will try the Ohm meter, i will give a local old Datsun mecanic a call tomorrow, if you'we got a problem you cannot solve yourself, visit Espedalen.
  4. i have changed fuses, relays, repaired a few wires, no luck.... when talking to my mates here they begin to think its the ignition switch/key, could one of the 5 plug-in's at the back of the ignition be bad? Well the temperature on coil and such is normal...
  5. --- NEW PROBLEM --- ( Battery cable burns up every times now, can't find the fault) Well after alot of attempts and the problem dissappeard, i tok it for a drive downtown. Right after i began driving the long way back the car suddenly died and rolled the last meters into the parking lot. We tried everything and 2 days was used, in the end we just had to give up and leave the car until we get a trailer. We changed the coil, checked all connections for corrotion or damages etc... got new points since the leaf spring broke (strange enough it started everytime without it before)... Plugs and plugwires are ok, we get power everywhere, trying to start it multiple times but NO WAY IN HELL it will fire... it gets enough air and fuel. I get no spark on the plugs, but plenty of sparks inside the distributor. Im out of options, anyone got a suggestion or two? very appereciated! David.A
  6. Bad news.... the problems stopped, and when i drove to the middle of nowhere, the Engine just died.... and whatever i did it didn't want to fire. lucky i didn't have to sleep in the car in the cold, stod 3 hours til over midnight trying. I begin to think its the distributor now, i got power everywhere but no power goes to the plugs. Bad rotor? points? any suggestions?
  7. We have points here! Well i pulled the plug from the key ignition, and now it starts all the time.... I just don't understand... But the biggest problem now is the lights. When turning the key, all lights, lights up without having the switches on... ground problem or? sometimes only park lights, sometimes all of them. no clue, just mystery.
  8. I will def check that out thanks Banzai! BUT the starting problem isn't done yet i discovered.... I started it today, rolled it out and parked it. When i was to start it again, it would not start, i had no spark... After a while it started again and had spark, later it happend again, no spark and suddenly i had spark again to fire it up. This have to be a bad Coil or something.
  9. Well finnaly i got it started now, runned all nice and clean, was something wrong with the vacuumclock and the plugged hose. BUT after runned well in 3-4 minutes, it suddenly stopped again, now it won't start again. But i still got the light problem, when i turn the key, with lights turned OFF, the park lights lights up anyway, and when it just stopped now the headlights also lights up without turning them ON, after turning key OFF and ON again, only park again. Something must be wrong here.
  10. i have tested the power on the fuses, tested power on coils, checked the distributor and cleaned whats needed. But no way it wants to start... air is good, fuel is good. Can't figure it out really. Any suggestions or?
  11. Battery was dead, but now it cranks as a god after replacement. But won't start, looks like there's no spark, but no problems with fusebox... Could be some other fuses etc?
  12. Hey there, i was thinking about asking this question to ya all now as i discovered that my B310 suddenly won't start :S stod outside, raised up and covered. Lost my garage. I gonna Discribe from start to end of attempts. Before i parked it in Winter, everything was in perfectly working order, and it did start at christmas. It hasn't been colder than 15- . I did try to start it, it cranked, and suddenly lost power, after trying and trying it got weaker and weaker til it stopped cranking, leaving it with only "clicks" after turning ignition. Battery shows Green light (means there are plenty power) and poles are cleaned. Jump starting with start cables or power box won't work. Hazard lights flashes, but side markers makes constant light, not flashing. When turning keys on "ON", headlights should not light up, but they do. Could i have some ground problems or something? Thanks for help.
  13. Didn't take long for me to learn my B310 aka 210. Many parts i don't know the name of, but learnt how they work and how to fix anyway :)
  14. Quick question, my mate here wonder what colour the "412" is on his 180B. No luck in finding on google or here, would appreciate help. Car doesn't have original colour so we found the code on the hood. (can remove post after)
  15. The positive thing about the California wagon is the rear axle springs :) But i really like the more boxy type Sunny more, and i don't enjoy the rear taillights on the sports wagon.
