  1. I had the shims made up, then sectioned the struts to take mk 1 vw golf (rabbit?) Inserts so it's all sat together and looks the part but not driven it yet (converting rear to irs, using s12 rear end). I would suggest a decent bevel on ID as it eases location I did mine with a deburring tool after messing for ages. I knew they would help someone!!!
  2. Yeah i just read it again i am looking for these parts if anyone know where to get them!!
  3. I was reffering to the fact we did not get 6 cylinder 180b's with the longer hood, we only got them with L18's We did get the 280zx and a fair amount of other models with 6 cylinders. Do you have a link for the 810 sedan irs into the 810 wagon?
  4. Just checked it is a h165. It was a 4 pot L18 is now a ca18det. We didn't get 6 pot versions. The change in model designations by location throws it a lot.
  5. 90% sure mine was 4.1 when I checked it out. The diff in the s12 is 3.7 Chances of finding a different centre for the h190 is slim over here.
  6. Pretty much all the s12s here are ca18et with r200, so I can swap in s13-s15 centres into the s12 case. I also think the ratio is better suited for cruising.
  7. Bit of both, with the extra power I'm not overly keen on sticking to original axle, I have a s12 that I'm breaking so seems like a good idea to me. I like the idea of irs, rack conversion, ease of upgrading to lsd, the potential for a nice air ride install if the mood takes me. However I don't want to lose the practicality of the car so rear seat and load area need to be useable. A lot of the conversion I've seen aren't that great in that respect, the one above with the 510 is pretty good and I think the s12 rear end would work out pretty similar.
  8. I've fitted s12 struts onto my 810, the issues i've had are: Must use a spacer to make up for the difference. Mine were 54mm OD 40mm ID and 15mm thick You get a bit of extra positive camber due to the steering arm bolts being offset to the strut tube: top one is s12 bolt hole is approx 1/4" further out than centre line of strut tube bottom one 810 standard strut bolt hole aligned with centre of strut tube, If you go low you should have enough play to sort that out with adjustable top plates.
  9. I have seen a few good examples and some that seem no so good, i do like the idea of using an OE setup but finding a saloon over here that is totally knackered is pretty slim tbh! Also there are no IRS'd wagons over here that i know of. I should add some background on the car, i have a build thread on retro rides http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/127221/1977-datsun-180b-estate-det When i get some time i'll put it on here as well. At the moment i have a s12 i am breaking and the plan is to use the bits to make the wagon a bit more modern to suit the engine transplant. So front crossmember, rack, IRS (with lsd), discs all round etc
  10. I'm in the UK so will need them shipped here
  11. I need a couple of unusual items people I know are after: Discs (rotors) for front of 1975 Datsun 260c cedric delux 230 series (chap has been searching for a year for these!!) I believe 240c are the same Steering box for RH drive 1985 720 kingcab 4x4 and the linkage to column. Will need shipping to UK.
