  1. Latest picture that I took of it today while I was out running some errands. It has come a long way and still has a long way to go. It is a blast to drive it and always have people looking at it and stopping and asking about it. This Forum has been a great help in getting it back on the road. Just wanted to say thanks guys.
  2. My switch does the same thing I just leave it forward when the lights are off to prevent battery drain.
  3. OK huge update. I have no pics but will get some tomorrow for sure. The car is doing great. I was dared to drive the car to biloxi Mississippi for school. It was a mad dash to get it ready for the trip. I ended up scoring a Second Gen Ford Escort seat to try out. All I had to do was swap the tracks off the old seat onto the escort seat and drill a new mount hole in the track to bolt up to the escort seat. I also had to elongate some of the mount holes in the tracks. The seat is a little tall but it is liveable for now until I can do something better with it. I got new tires all the way around and realized I had front wheel drive offset wheels on the car so spacers were bought and installed. Most of the interior is back in well everything I had anyways. The car ran great other than the starter just didnt seem right still. So off I went to Biloxi. Car was doing great and I made it a few hours into the trip when I started getting some exhaust popping. Pulled over the distributor was loose along with some plug wires and a spark plug. Adjusted and tightened everything down and back on the road i went. The car did great and I made it with no issues. Bought a timing light and found timing was maxxed out on the distributor so pulled it out and moved the base plate. Timing is dead on now and she runs much better. Pics tomorrow.
  4. I was needing the one next to the headlight not the actual turn signal. Ive been keeping an eye out on ebay guess ill just have to keep doing so. Thanks.
  5. How much would it cost for the drivers side front outer marker light off of that 82 210?
  6. Good news... My Block plate is there I just didnt realize you couldnt see it from the top. The issue with the starter ended up being that the bottom bolt was the wrong thread pitch and did not go all the way in. I installed the right size bolt and the starter now works like a champ. My lovely wife went and ordered my new switch yesterday so I was able to install it this morning. My ignition switch now works as it should. I was also able to get the idle down I hooked up the electric choke on my carb and low and behold the choke allowed the throttle stop to touch the idle screw. She idles beautifully now. Now all I need to do is church up some loose ends in the interior and start installing the dash pieces. Should be road ready by next week.
  7. All it takes is one split in the insulation and the wire to be touching the chassis, another wire, etc. I do a lot of wire maintenance on Aircraft and trust me when I say it I have seen just about every scenario. Wiring is one of my biggest pet peeves and is usually the first thing I fix on any car I buy. I hope you get this sorted out there is a lot of sound advice already. I am not an expert on this car so I can't point you to the most common failures but take my advice and the advice of others with common failure points and I'm sure you can get this whipped.
  8. Oh and I don't mean cut wires I mean disconnect your lights or bulbs or relays or flashers or instrument cluster.
  9. Easiest way to find the issue is start removing one of the problematic systems from the circuit and try a fuse. If it still blows the fuse put that system back into the circuit and move on. Eventually you will remove the faulty system from the circuit and the fuse will not blow which will than tell you which system in the circuit you need to dig into. Good luck on your search.
  10. I havnt solved it yet but after some reading and realizing that just about every import car I have ever owned has had a plate between the block and the bellhousing of the trans that starter mounting depth is probably my issue. I think If I were to build a spacer for the starter that i would be fine. Finding a new plate in my area is gonna be very hard to do.I will get to it some time this week or weekend. I need to find an ignition switch so I can start the car with the key instead of under the hood by jumping 12 volts to the relay.
  11. Also it was warmed up I let it run for a good 10 minutes to make sure nothing was leaking and get it up to a high enough temp for the stat to open.
  12. I do not have the factory carb. I have a Webber and the choke isn't hooked up perhaps it is stuck electrically from the last time it was hooked up?
  13. Starter issue solved... no plate between block and trans. Gonna build a spacer until I can get a plate for it.
  14. Its alive!!! Got the interior harness finished up and moved under the hood. Got everything situated enough to try to fire her up. Took a few minutes and she breathed her first breath in years. Runs good have a high idle issue. For some reason the throttle stop will not rest on the idle screw. Was able to put it in gear and made sure the trans works. So far so good. Gonna need a new ignition switch and figure out why the starter grinds so bad. Just glad it runs and so far everything electrical seems to work as advertised.
