  1. Just watched Invasion U.S.A starring Chuck Norris. There is an intense action scene involving a 4x4 extended cab 720. Anyone know if any other 720 movie parts?
  2. Well the truck has been running good. However I am in need of a master cylinder. Mine is shot. Brake fluid is being sucked into the engine. Anyone know where to get a cheap rebuild kit?
  3. Well before I went any further in tearing it down I bolted the carb back on and ran it with the # 4 plugs out. Sounded like a kamikaze. Regapped tthe flattened plugs and screwed em in. Started it up and ran like never before. Hope the foreign object dislodged itself. Havent road tested yet but idles and revs better then ever. Have to fix the brakes before I can hit the road. Thanks for the help datszen mike.
  4. Well when turned over by hand i can hear the #4 leaking somewhere. Sounds like into the oil galley. Lot of fresh carbon buildup inside the valve cover. How Much play should be on the timing chain? I can move it 1/2- 3/4 inches on the right side. Does that sound loose? Im thinking of replacing the chain when I do this. I believe its the original.
  5. Yep I had it off a while. However I think this problem started long before I had the aircleaner off. Carb is all intact. Im kind of worried the top ring might have broke.
  6. The truck has been parked a while. Anyway. it is running real rough like when i left it. seems like a random miss. before I parked it it got new plugs wires, rotor, cap, and a coil. Today I decided to tear it apart. Took the carb off then pulled the plugs and low and behold number 4 plugs were hammered Literally. Intake and exhaust side. Ground electrode mushed flat. What the heck could be in there? I dont remember dropping anything down the intake. Im going to run a compression test before I pull the head. Hope the piston is all good. Any ideas as to what I may find in there? Anyone seen this before? Those mushed plugs really bother me.
  7. Today my truck took a dump.
  8. Today my truck took a dump.
  9. I have never actually been to rock auto.com. It was a great place with lots of parts. Also seems to be a fair price on most. It bothers me to buy a distributor that costs 1/3 the price of the truck. So I will first check junk yards. Last night I squeezed my truck into the garage with only an inch to spare. Now I have to park my bike in the bed of the truck with my table saw.
  10. Well the truck can still drive around a bit. I think the distributor is hosed. It wobbles quite a bit side to side. Getting bad missfire in the intake side firing all plugs, and exhaust side intermittent missfire. Been measuring things up for a vortec v6 with auto trans.
  11. I think the timing chain jumped, or lost a piston. It blew about a mile from home. Still managed to limp it home somehow. Not really sure how I made it home. I was just cruising and it let loose inside. It started running like this ------> :frantics: Might not sell if I can find a nice v8 to swap.
  12. Got my new pump installed and the trucks running great. Now I have what I call a flat spot when trying to accelerate. I believe it was starting this before the new pump. I can floor it through all the gears just fine and cruises fine at any speed. However while cruising in 4th or 5th if I floor it I have what I would call a flat spot. No shutter or stumbling. Just light acceleration. If I ease the throttle on it accelerates better than trying to floor it. Kind of an annoying problem. Pump primer is ok Timing ok Any Ideas?
  13. Fuel pump crapped out. It still sounds great. Just no volume or pressure. It might pump 3 gal/hr. Fuel siphons through it just fine. Gets just enough fuel to accelerate and cruise at about 50 then the shuttering begins. New one is on the way.
