  1. Hi Guys, I posted a classified a couple of months ago and another one today for a underdash harness for my 510. Last time I did it nobody had an extra harness so I have been looking around for options. Using the search function I found that there are some universal harnesses that we can buy, EZ Wiring was one of the best reviewed but is almost $200 and it requires time and some mods. For now I am looking for the cheapest way to get my car running so I posted another add to see if someone has a good dash harness for sale because my car has the engine and trunk harnesses in place and in good condition. I happen to have a 1200 underdash harness that I think I can modify to fit my needs, so while I wait to see if someone has an extra 510 harness I have been looking at the 510 and 1200 wiring diagrams and they are close enough (I think) I am going to start tomorrow but I like to know if someone has a picture like the one below that has the labels of the pins for the 1971 510 (this image is from a 521) This is a picture of my instrument panel pins, Here is a picture of the connectors coming into the cabin from the engine harness And one from the 1200 underdash harness connectors I will use my voltmeter and decide if is worth the effort and time, I know the EZ wiring will take time to install too so we'll see. Thanks in advance
  2. Looks like I am done, PCV valve done L18 timing marker done Clamps done Thanks for all the advice, by the way this site was my mine source of resources to be able to complete this job, I don't think I could have done it without the tons of information this site provides. Thank you again
  3. Ok, Thank you for all the advice. I was concern that something was wrong with the timing. I will try to find the marker from an L18 to make it right and if I can't I will put a new mark on the pulley after finding top dead center. Also, I did get the PCV valve into the EGR block off plate and got all the hose clamps in place (thanks for noticing) I'll update pictures later today, I am anxious to run it since it is my first rebuilt engine. Thank you again guys.
  4. Hello All, We are rebuilding an L20B engine to be installed on a 1972 521 truck, this engine came from a 620 truck, here is a picture of the engine before we put it into the truck (with the original L20 crank pulley in it) We got the all the timing marks aligned and it looked like everything was fine, so we installed the engine on the truck. Then we realized that the current pulley ( the one on the picture with three grooves) was to close to the frame, so close that it was almost impossible to put the new belt on, so we decided to replace that pulley with another one we had from an L18 engine (single groove). The problem is that when we aligned the engine to be top dead center on compression the new pulley will be on the 1 oclock instead of the 11 oclock the previous pulley mark was, therefore far away from the timing marker that was align with the original pulley. Here is a picture that shows with arrows what I am talking about. I did some research and couldn't find enough information to figure this out so I am hoping someone will know what is going on. Thank you in advance.
  5. Well, I am just posting information that I found from the actual Nissan Mexico, here is the first pic where "they" claim is the first car out of the assembly line: http://nissannews.com/es-MX/nissan/mexico/photos/nissan-planta-civac-el-origen-de-una-poderosa-historia-de-manuf?query&page=3 here is a second pic of the same moment: http://nissannews.com/es-MX/nissan/mexico/photos/nissan-planta-civac-el-origen-de-una-poderosa-historia-de-manuf-3?query&page=3 And here is the link to the part where "they" claim to have a pic of the actual first car: http://nissannews.com/es-MX/nissan/mexico/photos/1966_bluebird_1300ss?query&page=190 Same car? Different car? that is irrelevant, the fact is that the first pic is part of Nissan's Mexico history.
  6. Here is some more info about the assembly line in CIVAC "The sedan Bluebird was the first model manufactured by mexican hands in CIVAC and it had a total production of 10,510 units from 1966 until 1968. Some other models manufactured in CIVAC are the Tsuru, Ichivan, Sakura, Sentra, and Tsubame" And today they are working on the NV200 Taxi for New York. http://www.nissancommercialvehicles.com/nv200-taxi
  7. I believe at the beginning they only assembled the vehicles there with some Mexican parts but the main components were Japanese just like you said it was done in Australia. Today I don't know how it's done but I am assuming is very similar.
  8. Yes, I agree with you! I just though it was an interesting topic, well at least it is to me.
  9. And here it is, this is the actual 411 that Nissan Mexiso claims as the 1st vehicle built in Nissan CIVAC (stands for Industrial City of the VAlley of Cuernavaca) I know is very difficult to know but maybe this one belongs to a Ratsun member today?
  10. Well, as far as I know this was the first 411 in the line in 1965, the assembly line is in the city of Cuernavaca, state of Morelos and was the first factory built outside Japan, so my assumption is that this is the birthplace most of our Bluebirds. I terms of the D21 they assembled several model down there, including this one that I haven't seen around here. And here is a link to one famous commercial of the 60's that was very popular back then.
  11. This is a picture I found of the first Datsun assembled in Mexico, the factory still situated in the city of Cuernavaca where I was born. I understand that it was the first assembly line outside Japan. Many of my relatives used to work at this factory, nice memories.
  12. Indeed, it looks that you have a good collection of 410/411 items (including the clocks), I closed my business recently and don't have a job yet so money is an issue for me at the moment. My plan is to sell this 411 to finance the other projects I have (including a RL411 that I will keep for me) and if I do sell it then maybe we can work out a deal with one of those, of course if you are willing to let one of them go. Thanks for the comments.
  13. Yes! New windshield (really hard to get), front seats upholstery (cheaper to install other car seats but I like to keep it as stock as possible), wheel cover (rear passenger side wheel cover is different than the other 3 covers), and dash clock is all I need to complete it. Thanks.
